Why do I feel offended? (<------ 1/3 of the reason is reading Karneval because it has NO romance) Anyway, dont get your hopes high, Shoujo-lover. I seriously doubt this manga will become anything but it is right now. Nothing more, nothing less. Go read some other manga - not for it's genre, but for the stroy line (Sorry, im irritated. )

Fffff, you can calm down. All she said was "no gay plz," which I frankly found hilarious for no particular reason.
Getting past that...even though Karneval is slightly more subtle with any boys' love hinting than 07-Ghost is (only slightly; Yogi seems to be fond of inexplicably grabbing Gareki's hand because of plot details yet to be revealed in later chapters), it also has yet to introduce a female character anywhere near its main protagonist's age (Nai, so to speak), as 07-Ghost did, let alone a love interest. By said later chapters, he does seem to have made friends with a nine-year-old boy, though. ._.;; The hotter guys (ie. mainly every other male introduced other than Nai, as he's the cute one) seem to have little care or luck in that department as well; then again, of the two female characters introduced, one of them is blatantly a Hot Amazon lesbian... So, basically with this manga thusfar--the author isn't quite interested in romancing anyone even a tad. Maybe in the future (though I shall mourn if she chooses either Gareki or Yogi But yeah. She likes gay. Sorry. Please try a shoujo. owo;;

Osaka-neechan, your post made my day! LOL.
I'm a shoujo fan, though I'm not very hissy, when someone says they love yaoi. Quote:
Heh. If you want to know why is he grabbing his hand... As for the question in the first post... I think Tsukumo and Nai get along well, but I can't see any romance there. They're good friends though. |

I think Nai is too young to be in love with someone... And I have always seen Tsukumo like his older sister.... It could be Gareki & Tsukumo....but i don´t think so...I would like more a Hirato/Tsukumo haha.
Anyway Yogi and Gareki...omg! x3 hahaha

Due to the severe lack of girls, taking in account the main character's age and his extreme fondness for one person (who could have ditched him long ago) this series is shaped out to be shonen-ai.
It's odd when you ask if there's any romance and specify no gay. I feel like you can't limit a question like that.

Not all fans of Karneval are yaoi fans. What's so wrong with not liking gay? |

If people don't like reading gay orientated things, that's fine ^^; They are as much within their right to dislike gay fiction as we are to like it =)
Karneval isn't gay orientated, in fact, it isn't even (romance) relationship orientated (at the moment). People see what they want to see in fiction like this, it's so subjective =) VnCuong asked a legitimate question =) no need to get offended =3 |

I think that last sentence feels a little more sarcastic than I intended; to be clear, the manga-ka herself has written romance, as well as BL-sprinkled one-shots (I think the romance was better written, honestly), here and here, for the Arcana anthology (I thought Shindo Arashi, writer for that Disgaea manga, pulled off a better BL-sprinkled one here, though). I'm not sure if she'll introduce romance into Karneval, but she hasn't yet, so if she does, it'll probably won't happen for dozens more chapters. Possibly. ._.;; I...still hope they don't tear apart the gayness of Yogi and Gareki... And... TH-THANK YOU, MIRLAINE. For several reasons. Chief among them: that compliment. ...Though more-so for the Yogi/Gareki gayness info... ;3;

Gareki is the most popular character in the Japanese fandom, followed closely by Yogi. It almost seems natural they will stay together forever.Quote:
