I wasn't sure what to think about Haruka at first, but after reading for a while I really got attached to how her character was growing, especially after she went off training with Mamoru. XD She's still got that sweet and docile side to her, but she's becoming more of a fighter as the story progresses... and a bit of a brat, too. Mamo-chan's a bad influence on his future wifey, methinks...

I like her character...
she is the complete opposite of Mamoru.
I also think that he's training her for the times that he isn't around her, she needs to be able to protect herself, cause even with her foresight, its not completely accurate. And she can't always rely on mamoru being there.
but seeing a sword wielding future Haruka would be something to look foward to.
She would be hot as hell.

I like Haruka, personally. At first I was doubtful; how was Ma'ru going to cut up the bad guys with a young girl in tow? But Haruka really is a good kid. She's innocent and sweet, but also determined. Everyone seems to want to save Haruka from Ma'ru, but I hope she stays with him. They make an excellent team. A sword-wielding future Haruka would kick butt.

She balances Mamoru well. A rare female lead that doesn't completely annoy/frustrate me. And she knows the limits to her usefulness so she doesn't get in the way.

i think personaly that haruka is very strong to be able to hold such a heavy burden on her soldiers and still be able to have the guts to runaway earlier so i think she is cool

Have to say she doesn't have ANYWHERE NEAR the amount of fan-hate you find for a bunch of other female leads (Orihime, I'm looking at you), and for good reason. Part of that is probably that seinen fans tend to be a bit more mature than shounen fans; okay, so maybe not really, but we ACT more mature on the seinen boards.

You think so? I kind of doubt that maturity has all that much to do with how much you like or dislike a character, it's really more a thing of who rubs you the wrong way. And since you used Bleach as an example, I will too; Even though I'm fond of a lot of Bleach's female characters (Rukia, Neliel, Orihime, Mastumoto, Unohana, Yoruichi, Tatsuki...) I can't bring myself to like Hinamori since she annoys the hell out of me. I'm not some bratty h8er who rants and raves about how she should die, but I just don't like her because she has allowed herself to become so heavily brainwashed that she pretty much lost the ability to think and reason on her own, and refused to admit she was wrong even after the truth came out. Even at the current point in the manga, I still doubt that she's shed her loyalties to Aizen despite everything he's done. But since she's showing some real initiative to change, I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt and see if she's really as over Aizen as she says she is.

Soi Fong irritated me recently too, just because I'm an Urahara fangirl and I don't want her stupid little infatuation with Yoruichi to get Urahara locked up in a barrier. XP Unless it's with me, then it's okay. XDDD

Have to agree strong female charicters are very good need to see more of them.

I also agree... we need to find more strong female lead characters... and Haruka is so cute... and with mamoru when she grows up... how cute...
