heck no way?!! ders no way ders bullies in japan..is der?
dat country is so nice, peaceful, so clean & tidy and warm....and the people keeps bowing humbly every time so its impossible to think dat such calm, nice, humble people can have some bullies or delinquents...
its so common on mangas, stuff about bullies but somehow i don't believe it...
i know deyr a bit eccentric in some ways (inc. fashion), but japanese bullies?

well, if there is, deyr bullies wud only look like girls compared to us here in philippines and u.s
if u talk about extreme bullies dat is..^--^

It's really not like everybody's all nice and everything. That, too, is completely impossible.
Plus, people in Japan are becoming more and more individualistic, so, yeah.

Of COURSE there's bullying in Japan. >.> Any society that demands that social homogeny that you term "nice, peaceful, safe" etc. henpecks the crap out of anyone who is a little different or socially inept...anyone that doesn't fit into the general mold of society.

i ddnt based my opinion on anime/manga alone, im not dat childish u know..
yeah bad people are everywhere blah-blah-blah...
dats why i said if der are bullies in japan--they're not as extreme as other countries because after all even if deyr individualistic people, survey says dey are one of the "calm-est" people on earth..get me?

well there's bad in everyone and so of course japan has bullies. and i guess the reason japan is known as one of the calmest places is b/c they are more controlled and stable but of course there will tend to be some rly bad bullies here and there

I live in Japan and I've witnessed many encounters of random beatings in allies and nearby school. And of course there's bullies everywhere. I don't know where you've been but some people are'nt humble over there. You get sexually harassed on trains and on streets.
Japan is a beautiful place but it isn't as dreamy like as you think.
Also you way of typing is kind of ...distracting. especially people WhO TyPe LiKe tHiS. Please use the correct spelling of and not "der" or "dat'" so you can save the rest of us from insanity. Thank you

Of course there's bullying. And like someone said before me, when there's more of a social mold to fit into, those who are different or don't follow the customs in their entirety are probably ridiculed. I think, if anything, there's more gender role and social standards to follow there whereas in the U.S., there is a lot of behavior deemed acceptable. Also, just because people are nice on the outside or at least polite on the outside does not mean that they're nic the moment you leave or etc. It's a very childish thing to assume.
