i think it will be the normals and that it is that wich is supposed to make Kaoru join pandra.

What they shown so far it seems that he might be dieing from some disease or something
Although they wont make disease kill him, they will make him sacrifice himself to save children or even Minamoto (because they know hes important to them) That or he will make everyone think hes dead and disappear (less likely)
