Amira's reaction to Karluk's cold seems just a wee bit over the top, even for the times, don't you think? I wonder if she lost someone to an illness before -- possibly a previous fiancée or husband. It could perhaps explain why she's a twenty year old bride, maybe?

I got that impression as well that someone dear to her died from what was thought to be a mild ailment.
I thought it s cute how she fussed over him. She has become really attached to her husband which will make it all the more painful if the brother returns. MORE PLEASE> I really love this manga. MM |

yeah, probably her previous husband, fiancé, lover/brother died after a short illness.
Also, the fact that she married late probably means that she invested a lot in that relationship, and can't bear the thought of losing it. Of course, there's also the fact that she may be confusing her wife/mother roles, which is annoying Karluk |

I thought her reaction was perfectly natural, maybe she could have lost someone important before and it's understandable for her to be worried. Look at the time period there in, I'm not sure of it but I'm 100% sure it sure as hell ain't modern day, there are no flu shots or a bottle of Nyquil in the time period they're in. I think it's alright for her to be worried about the person she loves, or at least I hope she does, and not in a motherly way.

I think is normal for her to act that way, gotta remember back in those days a simple cold can kill you if not careful.
Not to mention everytime someone get sick they say is a cold, you broke a leg is a cold, you bleeding internally is a cold, you start loosing your hair and is a cold even thou could be cancer. Medical science aren't as advance as what we have now, so whether is a cold or not they never know, not to mention even a simple cold can kill someone back in those days. But I did think she overreacted in the way of a mother more than a wife XD, or it could be just that motherly instinct thats inside every women. That last few pic where she hug him after he is well look like a mother and her child
