Nobody in their right mind could call Sakura the cutest if they've seen the Bad End at the end of the Heaven's Feel route. The things she did to Rin... If you can read that without getting the urge to throw something, you're pretty damn cold.

Well, I've played the game (and watched that particular bad end several times), and I've just voted for Sakura, so....

I disagree totally with you here. HF made me likes Sakura a lot. Rin, on the other hand, went down a *long* way in my estimation in HF (although, thinking about it, particularly the end, has made me like her a bit more).

Well, firstly, it was a Bad End. Even Saber kills Shirou in a Bad End. It never actually happened. Secondly, at that point Sakura was both clearly insane, and also not in total control of her own mind. If you hate her for what she does as Dark Sakura, then you should also hate Saber for her actions as Dark Saber (she's responsible for Rin being in that situation in the first place). Finally, Rin's response to the speech Sakura gave immediately preceeding that was so damn cold and uncaring (although, in fairness to Rin, it was almost certainly an attempt by her to convince herself that she could kill Sakura) that I ended up almost feeling that she deserved it (I admit that this is being rather unfair on Rin, but the way she spoke to Sakura was so idiotic...). Rin told her that she didn't understand what Sakura had been through, so Sakura, in her madness and anger, decided to show her.

Plus, how can you complain about that, and not feel any sympathy for Sakura, who went through exactly what she was doing to Rin, and for a lot longer. Sakura deserves so much sympathy for what she went through in the ten years prior to the game that she really should be given the benefit of the doubt. The Sakura from that Bad End is clearly evil, and irredemable (even Shirou realises this), but the one that you see in the True end, and in most of the rest of the story is so damn cute and loveable. She is so deserving of a decent life after everything she's been through.

I just can't blame her for something that she thought of doing whilst totally insane and (literally) posessed by the devil and almost certainly feels very guilty for even considering, given her relationship with Rin in the epilogue. Yeah, that bad end was a very bad one, but there are a hell of a lot of extenuating circumstances, and she never actually went through with it canonically. The normal Sakura (which is the one we're talking about for the purposes of cuteness discussions) would never even consider doing something like that, even to her worst enemy (she wouldn't even put Shinji or Zouken through it, if she had the ability to). The fact that a corrupted version of her did something utterly horrific in a Bad End doesn't make her any less cute.
