I think it had to do something with the incident with cutting her mom's hair.... I'm not too sure now that I look back. It's been a while since I've read Beauty Pop so I have forgotten some details. Hope it is helpful!! I talked it over with my friend and apparently, it's just more convenient for her since she's the lazy type.

Well lets trhink about it. It kind of matches her personality you know? Simple and not caring. Its not too complicated and she is the maon character and the mangaka might have wanted to draw a simple hair. Plus remember when her hair went back to place after the gust of wind came? She doesnt have to bother fixing it and yeah. PLUS Narumi calls her Mussyhead and underestimates her because of her haircut. Hope this helps

I think so too. But I wanted to see Kiri with long hair at the end.

I'm pretty sure it's because her hair was long back when she cut her mothers ear, and she wants to forget about the incident as much as possible

How I see it is this:
Long hair takes a lot of maintenance. So in order to avoid as much hair care as possible, she keeps it short.
It also fits her personality. She's someone seemingly simple, but has a lot of inner beauty just like her hair. Remember when the wind blew it? It sparkled!~
And also, I noticed in a lot of mangas characters tend to cut their hair after something traumatic. Cutting hair symbolizes the turning over of a new leaf, like after you break up with a boyfriend or something.

Hehm, the time when she accidentally cuts her Mom's ear ... Her hair was long, right? Maybe - she cuts it because she doesn't want to remember that incident. And she used to be a cheerful kid but since then her personalities change - I think =.=

when i saw her looks when she was young with a long hair.. she have this
sweet smile in her face.. but now that she's older..her attitude.. is quiet with the
'i don't care' aura around her.. and her hair cut short..it's

maybe it has something to do about the incident with her mother.. ^^
i'm really glad that it became long again after 10 years..
