I'm confused about Ryuuko and Akira's situation. Are Ryuuko and Akira two sepparate people in one body? Or are Akira and Ryuuko one and the same?

akira is ryuuko's reincarnation. so, there is ryuuko inside akira.
i think .. although they're separate people, actually they're one. according to reincarnation theory that i know, a new person's personality (after reincarnating) is usually different from the beginning one. so, they're really different each other. and .. bcoz akira hasn't awaked, so he doesn't have ryuuko's memories at all. that's my opinion but, i'm not sure ..

oh! i was at first confused but my sis explained it to me.. technically ryuuko isn't 'inside' akira... akira inherited ryuuko's inchi (if i remember the name corrcectly). he is his reincarnation in a way.. but it is stated that he is a 'successor' with ryuuko's memories. well, he has not 'awakened' yet but as we know he will recieve his memories. he kind of already has but kou-nii made him forget again.. kinda. does that make sense? i hope so.. because basically akira is ryuuko-sama's successor with his 'king inchi' there for gaining his appearence, power, and memories... kinda the same person. well, ja ne!

If I understand it correctly, Akira is Ryuuko's reincarnation. Because Ryuuko was the super king of light (whatever the real title was) his Inchi had to be passed on. So Akira is kinda like an incubator for Ryuuko's Inchi to regenerate inside.

I thought about this a lot too...hmm where to start...
Well, Akira is the reincarnation of Ryuko( http://www.mangafox.com/manga/monochrome_factor/v04/c019/8.html) Akira inherited Ryuko's inshi(factor/power whatever you want to call it)(http://www.mangafox.com/manga/monoch...04/c018/9.html) and that when Akira awakens he'll remember everything(http://www.mangafox.com/manga/monoch...4/c018/12.html) I think that Akira is Ryuko(or Ryuko is Akira) but Ryuko hasn't awaken his memories and power leaving Akira as Akira. Which is why Kou said this(http://www.mangafox.com/manga/monoch...4/c018/14.html) Its very complicated, I apologize. Basically, the Rei power(and Ryuko) is still locked within Akira, who doesn't recall anything. When he awakens is the part that throws me off. My brain hurts now...TTATT

I get the impression... that Shirogane originally thought Akira had merely inherited Ryuko's inshi, and was his successor, but now knows (thanks to the fight with Nanaya, and Kou's explanation of how he met Ryuko) that Akira is in fact Ryuko's actual reincarnation. Except it's more than that. Ryuko's personality is apparently dormant inside Akira, and has the power--in life-threatening situations--to take complete control of Akira's body. So the implication is that with the awakening, Akira--shin--will transcend into the form of Ryuko, the Rei King, with all memories that go along with it. In essence, Akira will become Ryuko--in appearance, power, and memories.
But... anyone else notice how unethused Akira is about this fact? And how he keeps lacking fighting resolve? My theory: Akira's pretty certain that his personality--sense of self, etc.--will be eradicated when Ryuko awakens. Because what is 16 years of memories to millenia of memories? The aspect that is Akira will likely be overwhelmed by the enormity that is Ryuko--or so Akira fears. Or at least, that's my guess. |

Um, well, basically Ryuko's 'inshi' is inside Akira, so that when Ryuko awakens, it will be as if he was never killed in the first place. It's kind of confusing, yes, and I'm hoping they'll dwell on the topic more. :\
