First I would like to say that this is a manhwa, not a manga.

Try to keep an open mind and look beyond the literal story and pictures. One of the main themes in this is that we cannot have what we always want as well as a view of our society. I also saw a bit of the theme that you cannot judge something for what it looks like.

Because they were siblings, they could not be together even though that is what they want. They couldn't have wings, so to speak. This is because of the way that the traditional society works, unchanging like a fossilized Coelocanth.
And so the cat fell in love with the fish. The cat cannot swim, nor the fish walk. They are to forever stay at a respectful distance, always watching and longing.

If anyone else got a different interpretation out of this, I'd love to hear your opinions as well. :3

ohmigosh this was a beautiful manhwa, it was bittersweet, the pain and the love clashed beautifully. I thought it was lovely, short, but lovely none the less.
in fact I liked it short, if it were long I feel as if it would have dragged. And the drawing was way amazing!

actually I thought the choice of metaphors was kind of arbitrary... the cat and the fish, the live fish vs the coelocanth, wishing for wings.

I don't think it has any deep meaning besides what you already see.
two siblings in love, and through a trip to the aquarium you realize the problem of their relationship.

but maybe because of that emptiness, the indirect referencing to feelings, that makes me want to cry

if you want more stories like this, souryo fuyumi (mangaka of mars) has a lot of dazzling, bittersweet short works (like rainbow fish and damned sun). also the style kind of reminds me of okazaki mari. i'm sure there are more...

Well... I kinda agree with the comparison of cat loving a fish, but I think there is hope in the end, especially because of the old fossil fish on page 24, which is apparently an example of how fish became amphibians (walked on land and breathed air). So in a way, the love that is sleeping is just sleeping and not dead. Plus, they are not blood-related siblings, so if they did want to, they definitely could have a relationship.

I thought this manhwa was incredibly sweet and enjoyed the way it showed how love can be expressed, even if they don't say the words.

Attention how is this even tragic??!

ok, that was a sweet ending but by no means, sad. How is this even tragic?? i was greatly disappointed because its not sad at all!! in fact, im just depressed reading all of these happy endings. yeah so she wished she' d grown up with the guy when she was younger but what's so sad about that? she just wished she'd met him sooner that's it? its not tragic, and its not sad at all!! i want to read a more realistic manga than this, something that can actually happen in life because life isnt all sunshine and flowers and what not. this is actually more nostalgic than sad!! O-o
