I was shocked too. I thought W. Egg was another character.
But the question is, how could that be? Well, didn't they fought each other sometime in the construction site?

W.Egg from what I can tell is the best character in this manga, split personality FTW imo!
But I guess he (She) is the spawn of the poison originally intended for the woodpecker and an Alien  yes I know my theory appears. But the poison I think is the main thing seeing as the dog after eating his food became a beast and the song says his food and all his friends he touches are poison (poisoned) etc.We'll see but I hope its just doesent end up being a Aquarion or Trigun show with needless drama and/or the death of a good character. WOLFWOOD WHY!!!

I knew it... strangely enough...
yeah.... i might be twisted that way, but i always suspect the cute, naive characters... esp. after that Hummingbird chick went from shy virgin to psycho whore i suspected Shiro automatically... lolz, i waz a bit surprised when Ganta thought it was Crow at first, but then it turned out that crow wasnt "Red man" and I suspected Shiro again
 i really like Crow anyways...  hes epic!!! friggin makes me smile, he's all kick ass and adorable but he acts all virgin around the chicks... its so LOLZ!!!! xDhwaaaa... this is a good series... i want more... the Mockingbird guy looks interesting - like a male Shiro... |

I was amazed when i found out that it was Shiro I was like GASP!!!! O M G!!!!!! POOR GANTA!!!!! I men whats he going to do when he finds out that she unknowingly KILLED all of his friends @_@ I mean geez! Well, the second we met her character I suspected it would be Shiro for some reason, just because she seemed the most unlikely character, and therefore she had to be him, but never really thought Shiro would actually be him... If that makes any sense whatsoever.
