Yes, at first i just like any pairing that included Kurama, but then I found some videos and I tought "Why not?" XD They'd be cute together.

Naturally, everyone's entitled to their own pairing preferences and I'd never harass someone over them; being a yaoi fanatic, I've had more than my fill of being harassed about my pairings (the first fic I ever posted was flamed twice just because of the pairing). But the Kurama/Botan pairing has always seemed quite random to me, and I'm curious if there's any justification for it beyond "they look good standing next to each other."

In my opinion, Botan belongs with Koenma; this has always been my opinion and was certainly the majority opinion when I entered the YYH fandom over a decade ago. Also, back then, if Kurama was paired with someone, it was usually Hiei (which, obviously, is also my preference; it fact, they were my very first yaoi 'ship); I don't think the basis of this pairing comes so much from the actual story as it does the official artwork (ie: http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Marke...emon/Yaoi1.jpg [originally from either an ad or artbook, but this version has been around since almost the beginning of the internet; I _did_ once stumble across the image it came from though] and http://www.freewebs.com/avi17/hieikurama.jpg not to mention the abundance of official artwork [not still images from the anime, but rather stuff from ads, video covers, and art books] that have them standing/sitting next to each other, or fighting back-to-back or side-by-side); although there were some elements of the way Ogata Megumi played Kurama that probably contributed as well (ie: more than one instance where, when addressing Hiei, Kurama's voice drops to a rather intimate tone when he says Hiei's name - off hand, I can remember a particular instance during the dark tournament, when Kurama confronts Hiei about his arm, just before they're attacked by Ichigeki's lackeys).
