HELLO - I understand that many are upset that she is not choosing who you love, I felt the same in Uwasa no Midori-kun (still pretty pissed). But I want to ask you all to please refrain from using disgusting terms to describe her - whore, slut, etc. By using these terms we are feeding into the sexist ideals society has laid upon us. We as women, as females have the right to choose whatever guy whenever we want. I would not see the same kind of hate threads for the male characters who sleep with whoever before they find "that one girl" (which is such bullcrap).
Anyway, moral of the story~ if you don't like it then just say you don't agree with it. As women we need to take more pride in our sex and with that understand that not all women want to conform to your standards, or what you think is appropriate. Why is it that women are the harshest judges of other women? Life is too short to be caught up in such nonsense. |

I completely agree with you. When I saw the other threads I was kind of, shocked. It's too much to call her with those names. You made really good points like with the male characters. Just chill out, it's a manga. Keep the criticism to a moderate level, well at least keep the language down.

Not only that, but Miku isn't even a 'slut' or a 'whore'.
People are just going crazy with whatever word makes them happy when they don't even know what it means. These insults are always pouring out of others' mouths when it's not even true. |

I'm relieved to see that some people can show horse-sense so really thks for this thread anri!!! It starts to seriously piss me off to see all those insulting posts towards Mikuni and i find that pathetic to portray her as a slut, a bitch or whatever!!! It's so easy and petty to use such words just because you don't like her choice but honestly i don't think you really understand the true meaning of those insult!!! What has Mikuni done bad to deserve such a treatment??? Mikuni isn't a bad girl, she's an innocent girl who discovered what the word "love" means. At first she believed that she loved Chiho and she was sincere with him(she wanted that it works between them!) but with Nishizono always around her she has realized that Chiho wasn't the one she truly loved...she has simply had a change of heart, so what! she is human after all!!! Plus she was honest with Chiho, she confessed to him that she loved Nishizono but you insults her just because Chiho was hurt but hey!!! wake up!!! love hurts, love isn't easy and love is never acquired!!! And honestly i think that break up was the best solution because if she stayed with Chiho while she actually loved another then Chiho would have been even more hurt!!! Furthermore Mikuni and Chiho haven't done more than kiss(they haven't even gone on their first date!!!) Finally for you a slut, a bitch or a whore is a girl who doesn't stay with her first boyfriend, who loves more than one man during all her life then sorry to say that but with your narrow way of seeing things then in that case there are many millions of girls/women who are slut, whore bitch and whatever!!! So that's why you shouldn't use such words to describe someone you don't like because it involves much more than just Mikuni...it's an insut towards all the women on earth!!!

That is SO TRUE!! Although I'm disappointed with the ending, but there's nothing you can do about it. Lets just all agree that we are only humans, and as such our feelings are unpredictable !!! *sigh* But that's just life for you though.. =[ Still I think this manga was too fast paced, but it's going to be one of those mangas I would remember. (not necessarily my fav, but it's memoriable one!!)

"...terms to describe her - whore, slut, etc..."
I agree. These terms were being tossed around so easily that I began to doubt if I have thoroughly read the story or if perhaps I had misunderstood the meaning the word, "slut" all these years. The literal meaning of the word is a promiscuous woman, but Miku was not sleeping around. She was just confused. So the term was used figuratively for woman passionately disliked. That brings to mind the idiom, Say what you mean and mean what you say.

i agree that using derogatory words like slut, whore, bitch are extremely foul, people should really learn to hold their tongues sometimes. anyhow, i do feel a little unsympathetic towards miku, and it has nothing to do with her gender. i felt like she was a little too nice, i'm not even sure if it's nice as much as it's stupid. come on girl, the guy obviously used you for his own convenience, have more angst please. *sigh* but what can i do? that's her choice.
and what's with sensei's speech " i'm using you, i'm an adult so i can do what i want" crap? that's anything but being an adult dumbass, and it has nothing to do with age either, it's all about character and morals dude. and i really didn't like it that she had sex with him, and again, it has nothing to do with her gender. even if a male did such a thing given the same circumstances, i would still disapprove. sex just wasn't the answer they needed at those moments. instead of giving him immediate physical gratification to relieve his "loneliness" she should have looked for another way, should have helped him sort out his troubles first. if she did, it might have even prevented him from leaving in chapter 11. i just didn't think that's what they needed to heal and maybe even the mangaka subconciously believed so too, after all he did leave after it didn't he? it's not what he needed then.
