Personally, I'm glad she ended up with whom she did. Passion and lust make for good muses (and George was as much a muse for Yukari as she was to him), but that is not enough for a realistic, long-term relationship. I'm quite happy to see that this wasn't just another fluffy fairytale.

I admit with everything you said except about it being a fully tale... nothing wrong with fluff you realist! It's manga for cryin out loud! There isn't anyone who didn't cry at the end and wish and hope for an OVA or a different future when the callous words "10 years later" flashed on the screen without one scene with george!
Though he was quite an ass, right uptil the end, especially telling her she made the right choice by not accompanying her. He's such a masochist! He deserves to die alone, god damn his ego! ![]() Sniff, she gave up rather easily though too didn't she? |

~ overall, this wasn't a bad manga... not as ridiculous as I thought it was going to be anyway...

well for the ridiculous part that is..... however. it is true that in real life, there are REALLY such people who exists..... no matter how impossible we may feel, some mangas are actually based on real-life experiences, observations etc and then modified to be written. i find that in life, as much as we would all like to get to our destinations asap, certain obstacles still causes us to U-turn alot.. its not about whether we want it or not, obstacles always come, its how we adapt to it i guess.

This is a manga where the good guy actually gets the girl and is happy while the asshole is sending them tickets with bittersweet memories.
Don't get me wrong her relationship with George was a good experience in the end but that isn't someone you build your life around. I'm glad the asshole didn't get the girl for once. It gives me more hope for Nobu and Hachi. lol

AHHHHH. I dunno. This is one of the few manga where I actually can't choose which pairing I support more!
(Along with Nana...I LOVE YAZAWA AI!) In the end, I still think I lean more towards George with Yukari...I understand that it'll never happen, and it wouldn't be healthy, but still. How could he just LEAVE like that?! And as for the whole: George is an asshole- thing. I disagree. He was just raised in circumstances where he hates women like his mother. I think that if Yukari had just grown up a bit, she could have fixed him... But no. Like Hachi, she's selfish and whiney and complainy. (Not that I have anything against either of them...) But like Hachi, that's why Shouji left her. :/ And yeah...I think George probably ended up with Kaori. It just seems the most plausible, cause he DID move to Europe... AND it seemed to me like she was the one he was really in love with. She didn't demand anything from him, and she didn't whine. And the fact that he actually shows his true feelings to her, like facial expressions and all, means she's one of the only women he actually loves. All in all. This manga made me a mess. I can't decide!!!!! Reading this after Nana is horrible. Too much bittersweet feelings going on. >_< |

Because Hiroyuki Tokumori is responsible, smart, cool and good looking too, actually he is Yukari's first love and he's a succesful doctor now. He understand Yukari and supports her, he really like her since high school. They are getting merried and after that they're goin to america for their honeymoon. I like it it'sthe best ending for me!!
