haven't you read the 1st Fushigi yugi series?
sadly, tho i hated it... takiko is going to die, from sacrifice at 1st, then her dad, who doesnt want her to die as sacrifice, murders her himself instead.... but hopefully, my imagination tells me that the real-world humans thought she was murdered, but she wasn't... maybe, by fate whatsoever, like miaka, got to have a happy ending... hopefully thats what yuu watase would do >.< LoL

I tried to read the first Fushigi Yuugi series, but I cannot adjust to the crude drawings compared to Yuu Watase-sensei's new and beautiful drawings. I will read it once I get over myself.

Takiko will go back to her world when she summoned Genbu...but her father just can't help seeing her being devoured by Genbu so he killed his only daughter and killed himself as well...then he wrote to his best friend Takao, suzuno's father, that he can't seal the book so just take care of it.

 i cried a river.......because of this story......its hurting my heart.......its like i cant understand, as if it affects me..... Yuu watase-san is the best mangaka in japan, her works makes me cry.....most of her works are sentimental.......HEAVY drama......I love sad stories even though it makes me cry........ tHe story makes me think that, what if you are takiko and your in love with a guy that impossible for you to be with.....?The worst is, he is only a character in the book..... Umm
I think i read in Fushigi Yuugi Mysterious Play that Takiko dies because her father murders her then commits suicide.. I hope Yuu Watase actually puts a twist to it to make it like she escapes to the book instead of getting killed.

Kind of thinking death becomes her. If this is anything like the first incarnation of this title half of the main characters are going to croak. Seriously when isn't she killing off characters??
only 2 titles i can think of. Alice 19th and Imidoki. Yet I still love her work.

Sadly, Takiko is going to die eventually...it said in the 1st Fushigi Yugi. and I agree with you, I also like Watase's new style better than the old one.
