I don't really understand ... Just what happened?

What's not to get?

That's it. It's over. The End.

The religious cult threatens to destroy Yuusuke's hometown, and even after rescuing all the hostages and defeating all the cult members, the "laser" could only be deactivated by one of three buttons. The other two were traps, one self-destructs the laser and the other fires the laser immediately.

Yuusuke was freaking out about it because it was a situation that he couldn't fight his way out of, and ended up choosing blue because it was Keiko's favorite color. Genkai had apparently passed away just after everything ended, it seems.

So that's it. Series is over.

It was nice to see, though, the author was capable of drawing the character in a really beautiful, detailed style. Don't think it would've worked with the tone of the manga, though.

Ahh ... it's over!

That was a nice read ... but i gotta admit the last couple of chapters seems kinda rushed ... and th3e ending seems like there could have been more ...

That's because YYH was cancelled/ended prematurely due to some problems, thus Togashi had to speed up the ending.

So they did cancel it prematurely, I had wondered that when I saw how fast they were going through that second torniment. I kinda bet that he wasn't canceled until after he had Yuske announce to Keiko that he would be back in "exactly 3 years. No more, No less." and thats why that had to go ahead and have him come back sooner....

It was kinda funny the way he did it though. I could picture most of those little 2 page stories as being diffrent arcs, so I'm kinda assuming that he just went ahead and summed up a lot of what he was already planning to put in there.... I kinda liked the effect it gave. It made it seem like any amount of time could be passing while you were reading those last couple chapters and that life was just moving on...

My favorite of the little short stories was the Hiei and Muruku "Happy Birthday" one. There both just so sick and twisted it's perfect! And i've never been more pleased to have it implied that someone is going to be brutally torchered! That discusting pervert deserved every second of it!

Noo, it ended, it was a good read! I love Yoshiro Togashi's works (such as Hunter x Hunter and Yu Yu hakusho

) But I wish it didn't have a premature ending, it felt like it could have continued 50+ chapter more...

Nope.... Genkai died because she switch part to yusuke cos she knew it was the end... read carefully on the last chapter at page 7 conversations... and she left a will before she died before the incident, thats why the will says to "everyone" witch mean the writer also wanted to say goodbye for us

i've read this many time so i could understand the Japanese impressions

i dont think she ever found out and i liked the ending to the Tournament to the anime better than the manga. yeah he still lost but at least it actually told what happened better.
