Well, since everyone's getting confused with the manga/anime plot and game plot as well as fanfictions and fanart created by fans, I will post this to get the facts straight.

Before you continue, please note the below facts about each character's relationship with Hino Kahoko only occurred in their own pairing route. Meaning, because Kiniro no Corda is a dating sim, it allows you the player to play as Hino Kahoko, and you will be able to experience love stories with any of the Corda boys of your choice.

So I am not making assumptions of who will become the final pairing in the manga by Kure sensei. This is not written to upset any pairing-shippers.


*Corda is a game created by KOEI, and due to its popularity, 3 versions were made


*3 versions include Kiniro no Corda 1, Kiniro no Corda 2, and Kiniro no Corda 2 Encore


*The game is known as a otome game which in English is literally a dating sim designed for female gamers. Thus the nature of otome game is to have a girl with many boys where you can play different routes to experience love relationships with each of them. In the case of Corda, the cannon/official pairing is Tsukimori and Kahoko, known as the violin romance and the other boys included to allow players to play through the game more than once to try out different love stories for different characters.


*Because the time between the launch of the games Corda 1 and 2 were a few years, so in order to ensure the boost of their sales, KOEI produced the game into manga series drawn by Kure Yuki, who was the original character designer of the game


*The manga was then made into anime, this was of course marketed to help with the launch of the game Kiniro no Corda 2


*If you have played the game, you will realise, Kure sensei used some of the game plots into her manga as well as making her own plots. e.g The 4 concurs, and Len's meeting with kaho by the beach where he held her hand to stop her from touching the sea shell


*Then the game Corda2 continues on with the storyline after the concurs.


*Kaji Aoi and Kira Akihiko were the 2 new characters brought into the Corda2 game


*Kure sensei followed the plot from the game and incorporated it into her manga as seen with the recent chapters


Q and A time to avoid confusion

Q: Is Len going to Vienna or not?
A: This was the plot from his route in the game Kiniro no Corda 2. Yes, by the end of the game, Kahoko finally found out that Len will be studying abroad because that has always been his dream to further pursue music. Kure sensei seems to be following this route in her story, and therefore Len might be going to Vienna

Q: Did Len kiss Kahoko?
NO HE DID NOT! NOT EVEN IN THE GAME! He did confess to her on Christmas Eve according to HIS route in the game Corda2. He told her that even if he knew he loves her, he still will go to Vienna because he knew that was his path, although it may mean a life of loneliness and bitterness.

Q: So who did kiss Kahoko?
A: According to the game Kiniro no Corda 2 Encore, as a continuation from the Kiniro no Corda 2 game, you can continue the route as a girlfriend of the character you have completed in Corda 2 game.

In Len's route: No Kiss

Kaho and Len are now a couple, and everyone at school knows about it. Len is now all sweet and kind whenever he is with her because he is IN LOVE. All comments that they have never seen him smile so gently to anyone, and that Kaho is really loved. At the same time they pity the couple because Len will soon study abroad and long distance relationship is hard. The two then got into a fight because Kahoko found out from others that Len has changed his date of departure and will be leaving very soon but he did not tell her. Then with Tsuchiura's help, the two made up when Kahoko played a duet with Len. And then two had a HEADBUTT scene. SO NO KISS.

In Yunoki's route: Yes kiss

Yunoki and Kahoko are a couple but no one knows about it except Hihara. Because he needs to keep his reputation as a good student, Yunoki kept his distance from Kahoko in public. Then once Kahoko was harrassed by Yunoki's fangirls, asking why the heck is she getting up and close with Yunoki. And Yunoki helped her out and said that because she is a junior that needs his help, that is why he tried to help her as much as he could. Kahoko gets upset that Yunoki does not admit his relationship with her in public then the couple had a fight. But with kind Hihara's help, the two made up and Yunoki told Kahoko that although he was ready to give up on this relationship with her, he realised in reality he could not do it as he grabbed Kahoko and KISSED HER ON THE LIPS. So yes, Yunoki did kiss Kahoko.

In Hihara's route: Yes kiss on the cheek

Then continuing on Hihara's route in Encore (where they were already going out) was something along the lines of because he was busy studying for the university entrance exams, and despite being Hino's boyfriend, he could not spare time to go on dates with her and stuff. And as the kind boyfriend he was, he felt really guilty and therefore out of his busy schedule planned a date to a movie with Hino.

but because he stayed up late to study so he fell asleep in the movies, and afterwards felt even worse about it and said he was supposed to be a good boyfriend, instead he was a crappy one. So he started avoiding Hino. I cant remember what happened after that, (becuase his route was so blah that is why I cant remember the details...>.>) they somehow made up, and then in joy Hihara gave her a kiss on the cheek.

Kaji's route: No kiss

Kaji did NOT kiss Kahoko because he even has problem holding her hand because he thought that was rude and she is his goddess. But at the end of the game, he learned to become more physically intimate with her.

In Tsuchiura's route: No kiss

Tsuchiura and Hino were both offered the chance of transferring from general faculty into music faculty because of their recognised ability. Both were struggling about the decision, but eventually Tsuchiura decided that although he hated the music faculty students, but since he had decided to pursue his music career seriously, so he would agree to the transfer.

Then in Encore, when you continue his route as his gf, although Hino and Tsuchi were already going out, he was still too embarrassed to be affectionate with Hino in front of people, whereas when they were alone, he was quite sweet.

Then something along the lines of, Hino noticed he was being secretive about something, and then Amou suggested that they should follow him to see what he was hiding. And then they saw Tsuchi secretly learning violin, because he realsied, to be able to become a music major, he has to know more than 2 instruments. The reason he didnt want to let Hino know was because he didnt want her to see him play her instrument in such a crappy way.

Then they sort out the misunderstanding, and live happily ever after *shrugs*

Shimizu did not kiss Kahoko either.

In Ousaki's route: No kiss

Ousaki's route in Corda 2 was blah so I cant remember the details. The whole time he was in Vienna, and his route with Kahoko was via email anyway, so there werent really any events with him. Except he talked about his competition there, and because Kahoko was such a support while he went through the time, when he returned to Japan with the victory, he confessed to Kahoko that's all.

In Kanazawa's route: No Kiss

Kanazawa - was just about how he slowly was moved by Kahoko's enthusiasm about music, and then he too decided to try again and will therefore fly to Germany to seek medical help with the condition of his throat. As to why he damaged his throat, it was a stupid reason. He had a girlfriend and she left him so he was all upset and then went through days of endless alcohol, cigarrettes and then his throat was busted because of it. After he couldnt sing anymore, he could no longer remain in Europe with his opera career so he returned to Japan and became a teacher instead.

In Kira's route: No Kiss

you cant go for Kira in Corda2, but he appears as kind of the "last boss" of the game. Where you have to eventually pass the challenge he sets in order to win the game. But in Encore, you can finally go for him, and then you found out he actually has a tragic past. He once was a genuis violinist who competed in the Seiso Gakuin concur when he studied there. His older sister was also a contestant there at the time, she was so gifted that she had blessings from Lili (just like Kahoko). But because of that, even when she became really sick, she did not want to stop practising, and wanted to continue her music pursuit, so she died really young. And seeing that Kira felt such passion was foolish and therefore he too stopped playing the violin. But after he saw how hard working Kahoko is, it reminded him of his older sister's enthusiasm and attitude to music, so he was slowly touched.

Q: Is there only 2 episodes of Secondo Passo?

A: It has been announced by KOEI during their NeoRomance Festa 10 that in order to promote the new Kiniro no Corda 2 Forte game on PSP, they will create a once off 2 episodes only to be aired on TV on March 2009.

2009年春、加地・吉羅・衛藤の3名を加えて、スペシャルアニメ「金色のコルダ～second passo～」の放映が決定。遙か３の紅の月と同じく、現時点では1回限りの模様です。

This episode will include the 3 new characters, Kaji, Kira and Eto (who will be the new character in the Forte game).The official announcement is that there are only 2 episodes.

OMG!!!!! Thanks for the post.... I'm so happpy!!! I think I am going to have a heart attck hehehehehehe... by the looks of it Kaho is probably going to end up with either Len or Yunoki.. based on the endings of the game. Aw! I wish Kaji also had a nice moment with kaho. A kiss would be nice even a hug with holding hands hehehehehe... Thanks a lot!

wait so does that mean that Yuki is planning on following the game line all the way through or she's going to make up her own plot near the end?

I dont think she is following the plot of the game entirely because the game has multiple routes. But she is incorporating some of the events and storylines into her own.

And Kahoko most likely will end up with Len because in the game, they are the official pair anyway. Usually in a otome game, there is an official pair with other bishies to make up different routes.

Also, dont forget in the game, everyone gets an ending with Kahoko, even Ousaki, Kanazawa. and Kira.

p.s. yes, I know alot about it because I have been a hardcore Corda fan ever since its first game launch in PC format back in early 2000.

that was a great info for us, kahoyukimura. thanks for informing us. im not quite surprised when you said that kaho would end up with anyone anyway. besides, as what you've already said, la corda d'oro was based on a game so those routes was really to be anticipated that was quite fun, the characters we wanted to pair up with kaho would end up with her. but of course, in the manga, she would only end up with one.. and who could that lucky guy be.. hmm..
