the series is licensed, so there is a chance they dropped it. if you live in the U.S., you can just go to your local bookstore/library and read it.

It's a good question why it isn't getting uploaded these days. Licensed or not if this series can be sold in the US and it's very popular I see no reason to discontinue it. Ya know how many die-hard fans out there are gonna be ticked to hear that the very basics of .Hack have been severely uprooted and destroyed?

WAIT! Someone said something about Naruto being licenced, but the difference here is that .hack is licenced under TokyoPop. I think that might make a difference, but I don't know.
What if the scanlation groups are just using the fact that its licenced as an excuse to drop it?

There's no difference to be licened by Viz or Tokyopop, because there's a manga on this site called Because I'm The Goddess and it is scanned directly from Tokyopop's Version.
