Certain statements seem to point out that Jae became a vampire like Michael (from my point of perspective, at least). It is in my impression that when Ken stated, "She risked her life to save him" he meant that Jae either fed a lot of her blood to Michael in order for him to recuperate or that she decided to give up her way of life and become a vampire in order to save Michael from his lifetime sadness due to loneliness because no mortal can live forever, or both. Thus, it also explains why Jae mentioned that she finally felt welcomed in the mansion, because this time around she was invited in the house not for the sake of Ken but for Michael, the owner of the house and this time around she is also a vampire like Michael. Her becoming a vampire also explains why she stated, "slowly...I'll take my time..."
I think Jae finally realized that being a vampire was not wrong or negative. She accepted it which also explains why she would openly accept becoming a vampire to be with Michael. Jae, in the end, saw that vampires are still human, humans that are just "...free from the flow of time." Jae and Michael being together and being vampires may also explain why Ken mentioned that "This place...it won't let me go." Besides his memories, the mansion is also the place where two of the most important people in his life reside (although he won't admit it, I think he also cares for Michael). Jae and Michael being vampires also meant that they would need blood so they probably drink Ken's blood, which may also be one reason he can't leave the mansion. XD

Thats makes all the pieces fall in to place for me. cause i had alot of questions going in my head about the end, but the way u said it cleared them all up thanks lol i would have to agree with everything u said. my only thought is michael could have said to her that he didnt want her to go im sure she would have become a vampire for him, at least thats where i thought it was going. I'm glad but i dont think ken stayed with them at the end when that girl ( cant recall her name) asked where jae was he was like "shes not coming with US" so i think he left, but has plans of coming back for time to time.

I think Michael and Jae are alive. Because you CAN'T holding hand with smoke or paiting or whatever... plus, what's the point of this story if they didn't live, THEY ARE THE MAIN CHARACTERS, so they simply can't die, plus the WELCOME at the ending is the best proof, they didn't die

They died. :3
I think it's a little obvious because of the clouded gates and the fact that they are painted as angels on the ending page. She risked and lost her life. The "welcome" bit was like "welcome to heaven" like what Adrian did for Eva. That is how I interpreted it. Main characters loose their lives all the time. All though I can't think of any manga, I can think of quite a few books.

i think that Jae being a vampire is quite true but Ken being their food ?? i don't think that Ken would approve of that. And them being sent to heaven I think is a an absurd idea especially Michael is vampire who kill humans.. don't you think?? just sharing my opinion..

I agree with flowerzan in that Jae either fed a lot of her blood to Michael in order for him to recuperate or that she decided to give up her way of life and become a vampire in order to save Michael from his lifetime sadness due to loneliness because no mortal can live forever. And i dont think that they are painted as angels on the ending page but there is a statue of angel behind them. The statue would symbolize the peace they found in their lives and the fact that they accepted themselfs as they were... weell anyway thats my view of the ending
