This series uses the "male harem" aspect as a point of humor. For anyone who's seen all three seasons of the anime and read the manga, it's obvious that the entire time Wolfram and Gunter come after Yuri, he's practically running for his life trying to get away from their somewhat obsessive affections (which in Gunter's case is a gross understatement - a proper description for any man whose love for his king has actually reached spiritual enlightenment and has a monastery of monks trying to follow his example -_- ).

Sorry Yaoi fans, but this manga is completely straight... if not a little wacky . Still, you should check this out. The anime is one of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITES and the manga isn't that bad either (though the "male harem" thing is even funnier in the anime )

I'm in totally agreement this series is not yaoi, but for some strange reason it pulls up under yaoi!! Still it is a wonderful manga and anime!!!

Yeah, it is great, but sadly I heard that the company that was delivering the anime to English countries discontinued their distribution Luckily, there's a rumor going around that another company is going to pick up where the left off ALSO... Volume one should be out. I thought Tokyo Pop said it was to be on the shelves in July, but it's now August and I can't find it anywhere

Well it is not listed under yaoi, it's listed under shounen ai, and they are different, shounen ai is only meant if there is hints or just touching or hugging between the two males, and this manga has that, so has the anime. No, there is not any 'real' yaoi sences, but enough to hint it in going in that way. Look at Artist's other books, most are yaoi, some are pretty hardcore too. So i well not be surpraised if it does develop into a more yaoi genre, i sure hope so, but i do love this manga just as it is too

i totally agree this should b posted under shounen-ai instead of yaoi...i was actually surprised i found it here however i want 2 see something between Yuri and Saralegui
but that's my opinion

yup... this manga/anime/novel isn't yaoi but rather shounen-ai... the anime is so humorous but the novel is the opposite(?) because it has a darker theme... but nevertheless, this is good... AWESOME i mean

This is homoerotic shoujo, seeing as how there are obvious attractions between males in this manga/anime.

It's not YAOI cause it's actually shonen-ai. But there is boy love cause Wolfram and Yuuri kiss in the third OVA.
