This is an excellent manga with no cliches in sight and a solid original story line of teens who go through hard times in order to reach their goals and dreams.

I bought the first 5 volumes published by Tokyopop. This is worth buying! (there are 11 tankebon volumes in all)
When I picked up the first book, I wasn't sure because I thought the characters didn't come through as strongly as I'd have liked, but for it kept me interested and by the start of volume 2 it was one of the best series I'd read in a while! Can't commend it enough, in short- excellent stuff!

I have bought books 1 through 7 and I adore this manga. Like you said, it isn't predictable and it's really fun to read. Rin is my favorite character, cause he keeps going, when everyone is falling behind.
