I liked it but I thought the ending was so-so. It kind of left things unfinished. Is the demon king alive or dead? Did Hilda meet up with him after he left the flowers? hmmmm... I guess I kinda wanted a happy ending since their love story is sooo sad. After everything those two went through I was really cheering for them to be together happily at the end. And maybe they did. The author didn't really make things clear at the end. Overall the story was good.

I know I wondered too did she meet him!
Liked the story though it is worth reading. |

I think that ending represents the fact that although he died they will one day meet again no matter what. Just like the first time after she dies. Because there is that part where she is dancing once again and she gets flowers from him.

I think it's left up to the readers to decide. There is the fact that a man matching Laures' description left Hilda flowers, but they never explicitly stated that it was him [or his reincarnation, as the case may well be]. Everyone complains about the ending, but I thought it was good. Very optimistic.

It's also a smart move on the manga-ka's part, because she can continue the series if she wanted to. The open-ended possibly-it's-him-or-possibly-not ending lets her write a sequel to Seimaden if she ever felt like it. It also leaves more space for fandom.
