I saw a fan made trailer the other day on youtube. And i kinda realized. hey. Tamaki and Haruhi's relationship is sort of like Elizabeths and Mr Darcy's. Especially the part when it says The one person she cannot stand is the one man she may not be able to resist. I was like OMFG SO TAMAHARU
SO I was thinking does anyone else agree with me?
If so why and is there any other couples you think resembles TamaHaru?

I honestly think that if any relationship in Ouran had a resemblence to Mr Darcy and Elizabeth, it would be Haruhi and Kyouya.

This is probably my personal bias, but I think they have (or at the very least, much potential to have had, if only Hatoir had gone in that direction) the intellectual connection and, well, reapport, that the characters in Pride and Predujice possess

Sure, Haruhi and Tamaki have a connection too (and well, she does with all of them, again, if only Hatoir had a greater exploration) but theirs is more emotion, at least to me

ha ha ha, that is a super-cute fan-made sketch...but i wouldnt say haruhi's and tamaki's situation resembles pride & prejudice in the least...

now, if you said, "ohs host club is starting to feel a lot like hana yori dango," i would agree with you whole-heartedly.

I'd agree Sliase, Kyouya Haruhi has major potential there, and out of all of them I think Kyouya probably needs her the most. He's the most emotionally stunted, in my opinion and unlike Mori-hunny and the twins, he doesn't have a companion, other than Tamaki, who is optimistic and seems to open up to people more easily than he does. Kyouya is alot more lonely I think.
On the Pride and Prejudice topic, I agree there are similarities- the wealth barrier + evil grandmother/aunt + Haruhi found him 'obnoxious' to start with,
but Tamaki is far to thick headed to be compared to Darcy, and Haruhi alot more open minded and understanding than Lizzie.
I'd like to see Hatori go for a Kyouya Haruhi twist, and deepen Kyouya's character. Their relationship is so much more interesting - remember the episode where she found him asleep in the mall? I loved that insight into their perceptions of each other. I want more of interestingg, thought provoking interaction- rather than the generic idiotic couple who can't seem to get it together even though they like each other. I'm a bit over that.

I Agree with her. Haruhi may resemble Elizabeth Bennet. But I don't think Tamaki resembles Mr.Darcy. You see, Jane Austen depicted Mr.Darcy as a cold, rich, arrogant but with a good heart underneath it all. Tell me, this description suits more Tamaki or Kyoya?

I think Kyoya. The cold-rich-arrogant-but-with-a-good-heart thing suits him perfectly. But regarding the circumstances, (the grandma that resembles the aunt and all) it fits Tamaki's situation.

Other than that, I'm ok with Hatori pairing Haruhi with either of the two.

OhMyKira! I saw that vid some time ago and it totally made sense!...Ouran reminded me of the pride and the prejudice ever since I started watching it...not the exact plot but very similar!...

I know what you mean. I didnt mean that the couple or anime fit EXACTLY. I was just pointing out some similarites. Especially since i've read the books that involve the characters from pride and prejudice. But yesh i do think it would fit kyouya and haruhi also.
