I just wanted to give my theory on why kyouko is going to end up with Sho... I have read alot of manga's and they all seem to follow a similar pattern. The first thing i have noticed is the couple that argues together, stays together! lol the couple that is always picking on eachother or includes an immature spouse who acts like a kid and refuses to face his feelings is usually the one the main character chooses *cough* sho *cough* while the more mature and caring one is always the one left behind. The second thing that i have notices is that whomever the main character kisses first is the one she ends up with and in almost every case the main character's kiss is taken unwillingly!
for these reasons i really think that Kyouko will end up with sho even though i hate to believe it!

First of all, remember that Skip Beat! is not your typical, clichéd shoujo manga. It doesn't follow the usual, overused patterns. Secondly, Kyoko and Shoutarou's interactions may seem "carefree, cute, etc" or "demonstrations of the existing love/passion" between them, but things are not like that(imo always). Everything seems innocent and fun(not that it is not fun to watch their interactions) but that's due to Nakamura's comedy antics which are all over the place, even at very serious moments. Kyoko gets hurt though. Shoutarou continues to hurt her. It's not a simple case of "picking at each other". I think they've long past the point of where there was a possibility they'd be together. Shoutarou wants to bind her to him by finding ways to increase her hate and I don't see this getting him anywhere in the end.
About the first kiss...again, Skip Beat! is in no way a typical shoujo. Imo, the cliché "first kiss is given by the one and only the girl will end up with" has been shot down here, because Kyoko will *probably* end up with Ren, not Shoutarou. Preferences aside, I really don't see a Kyoko x Shoutarou happening.
Of course, all this is just my interpretation of the characters/their circumstances/the developments. We'll just have to wait and see.

well said skip beat is not an ordinary shoujo manga its a bit different from what you've been reading.....I mean after all they been through I dont think its gonna end up shoxkyoko...

i agree that this is not your average cliche manga i just offered up my opinion and i believe i have the right to do so, i still think she is going to end up wit sho not because i want her too... lord knows i dont want that to happen but i simply feel that the heroin usually ends up with the guy who the readers want her with the least. But hey i'm not the writer so who knows i will continue to read on and enjoy this manga no matter who she ends up with in the end.

HOY HOY HOY...even if it's not a typical cliche shoujo manga.... i would like to raise my hand and state i believe in this theory because i fully support SHOxKYOKO....apparently..Sho had just started to act more in this love triangle thing perhaps? so i do hope others will start seeing from Sho's pov when we had seen most of Ren's pov for over 100 chapters..... but sadly, this theory may not be true because it's aimed more for RENxKYOKO so there's no such thing as fearing RENxKYOKO will not happen in the end....laugh laugh.... which is sooo sad.!!!!!!

lol to be honest i think that Sho and kyoko make a more interesting duo then ren kyoko and i dont dislike sho its just i always end up rooting for the guy who plays more of the support system, i just feel like that guy deserves the love and affection because they work the hardest for it. I'ts rather fustrating when they dont get the girl and even more fustrating when you start liking and rooting for the supposed "villian" Lol authors always seem to find away to make you root for the immature, lonely, spoiled one in the end... i wonder why that is. I mean even now i am starting to like Sho a TON more then i did in the beginning of the manga and im beginning to think its cute the way he chooses to torment kyouko and at the same time is blind to the fact that he actually likes her and wants her by his side. But i must say i really love Jealous Ren its like a chink in his armour, You get to see a little bit of the flawed side of him and i like it! lol

I don't think they will end up together, nor do I want it to happen, under any circumstance, but, I do, however, think that if Sho could prioritize Kyoko's happiness over his massive ego enough to see that he loves her, then Sho/Kyoko would be so cute!! Heck I even thought some of the Sho/Kyoko pics from the ps2 game were cute and adorable, where Sho is showing his affection for Kyoko, but no matter how cute the Kyoko/Shoness is I will remain a true blue Ren/Kyoko fan to the end.

I strongly think that Kyoko will end up with Ren in the end. Doesn't mean that your theory regarding the first kiss and the playing around reasons are not true though. Yes, there are many shoujo mangas that seriously overuse the scenario of main character ends up with the childhood friend who kiss her first.

However I do like to remind you that if you read the comments of the author of skip beat, he did mention that he wanted skip beat to be different from normal shoujo manga. Hence, you see Kyoko's character to be "gloomy and dark" and instead of wallowing on sadness after sho dumped her, she decided to take revenge instead.

In fact, all the main characters of this story seems to have certain degrees of darkness in them. They are very human in a way that we the readers feel that we can relate to them. I am personally pro Ren and Kyoko instead of Sho and Kyoko. But this doesn't mean I hate Sho. I was upset with how he treated Kyoko in the beginning though. But he is changing now because i think he started to realise how important Kyoko is to him. But I also think that he knew that there's no way he can get Kyoko back to love him ( i don't think he wants her to be like the past either). He likes the dark Kyoko and he wanted to possess this Kyoko by making her think about him all the time ie. hatred (he is similar in a way to the beagle guy).

This is why i am against Sho Kyoko romantic relationship. It's not healthy so to speak. Kyoko is trying hard to return herself so that she can love again. She admitted to herself right after she failed the audition that she is missing a very important feeling as a human being because of what happened with Sho. she is trying to regain that feeling once more. She can't do this with Sho because Sho doesn't want the sweet Kyoko. And she needs someone that will accept all of her... So far there's only Ren and Hikaru (but not sure about Hikaru because he didn't know the angel Kyoko yet). So i think she will end up with Ren. But i hope the story will also give Sho a chance to be forgiven and their relationship improved (as friends or siblings like) by the end of the manga though.

i think what you said is very interesting... it made me think a little more thanks. And yes i love the dark side of all the characters, although i still think Shoxkyoko is still a possibility its all in how the author chooses to twist the story because even though Sho has alot of bad things about him i think the author will start to bring out more and more of the good in him just like how we see the good and bad in kyouko and ren. That plus i dont think Kyoko truly hates Sho, if she loved him as much as the story implies then she could never hate him to the degree in which we think she does. Although i do think that kyoko is royally pissed at him lol i think her love for him is what keeps her so angry at him and emotionally provoked by his actions and words.
