Fairy tail S class mages....?
I know the strongest original members were Mistgun, Luxus and ERZA (and Mira Jane when she can use her abilities) but I could have swore there was a 4th S class mage. So I started looking around and came up with this
http://fairytail.wikia.com/wiki/Gildarts Thing is I dont remember a thing about Gildarts. I dont even recall that name. And I went to chapter 69 his listed first appearance and didnt see him. I thought I remembered something about a mage that is never around and just figured it was mistgun and luxus then I got to thinking and was positive there was another. So I know that this gildarts has to exist because I wouldnt just fabricate a character into the fairy tail reality but I have no clue what, who, where, or even if this guy really is. Can some one shed a little light on the subject please. Thanks |

Gildartz has just been mentioned in passing by Marakov when he was considering who would replace him if he were to retire. He considered each of the FT S-class mages....
I forget what he said exactly when he ruled out each candidate but it was something along the lines of... Mistgun is too shy... so he can't be a decent replacement. Erza is too young Luxus is too power hungry Gildartz replacing him is just impossible. So yeah, the mystery is that Marakov never elaborated on why it was impossible for Gildartz to replace him. I believe that's the only time Gildartz has ever been brought up. He's also referred to as "that geezer" so he must be old. Aside from that, we know nothing about Gildartz. =/ Oh and just for your information about S-class mages, I believe the list is extended slightly: -Mistgun -Erza -Lluvia (Phantom elemental 4 entitles them to be an S class mage) -Gazille (Phantom elemental 4 entitles them to be an S class mage) -Luxus (left guild) -Mirajane (formerly S-class... recently regained her demon abilities) -Gildartz |

i wonder what u need to become s class cuz imo natsu is as strong as an s class clearly i mean he beat gerard and gazille but i don't think he is competent enough because his solution to everything is blow it the fuck up lol

Gildart was respected by Erza, Mistgun and all the others as the strongest mage in Fairy Tail. By the way people talk about him, it doesn't seem like he is a bad guy but for some reason he would never come back, his story is still a mystery. I really curious about him a lot, hope he will be introduced nearly arc.

About Mirajane, technically she's S-class again... but I don't think it's official. I don't think she'd want others to find out that she got her demon powers back. It doesn't seem like the sort of power she really wants anyway. I think she's more content doing her magazine photo spreads and being a bartender. |

maybe Gildarts is Luxus father...since he can also be considered "that geezer", but maybe not, because he got excommunicated from the guild...i wanna find out more about him too.

luxus's father is ivan from raven tail
i think gildarz is quite old that all call him geezer and i think he's about as old as makarov or maybe older well i think natsu and gray could be S-class(they beat lluvia and gazille) but makarov haven't talk to them bout it fried could also be S-class cause erza said so...
