OK everyone, like this thread's title says, I am sure I have found out the reason why you guys see Natsume wearing long pants! Please look at this page > http://www.mangafox.com/manga/gakuen...5/c086/25.html

Here, the Kusami kid says: 'Oh, Hyuuga-kun? Ah, I was...supposed to be in the borrowing race before...You remember, Kusami (referring to himself)? My face...Well...We were in the elementary department together until last year...'

And so, there you all have it!

Natsume and his cohort (meaning Mikan and the rest like Ruka and Hotaru) are not in the elementary department by this time! They all graduated or something (or maybe only Natsume graduated?) so Natsume has to wear long pants (Junior High Division school uniform for Boys)!

The reason why Natsume is wearing long pants is because......
He dressed up as a middle school student in order to save Mikan from elementary school principal.
That time he was in the roon because he pretended himself as Hayate.

Proof:
1. When Natsume revealed his identity, he dropped the wig there, it can be seen in the manga
(Please find the chapter yourself, it should be the one before his confession.)
2. Before Hayate saved Hataru, he woke up in the woods & he remembered eating a cake before.

I agree with Vanessa Atalanta. I kept trying to place Natsume in the room, and didn't realize he had worn a wig! It makes a lot of sense, and I was wondering about the cake too... I was considering when they came back from the time travel, but that makes a lot more sense.

OHH!! I see, thanks so much for helping me. i was a bit confused too. so Natsume gave Hayate the cake to eat?? Where'd he get the cake anyway? One of Anna's creations? HAHAHA! Stupid hayate go and eat it LOL

6th grade is still elementary school in Japan... ^^ After all, remember chapter 74, the graduation... Mikan and everyone go to the graduation ceremony, where Otonashi-san (the one who can predict the future), who was in their class but one year older, graduated to middle school. So they still have a year left of elementary school.

hey, I think kusami was the one who belongs to the middle school already..and besides I have also checked the chapter you were referring too, and its right. thanks for posting this i was also puzzled when I saw natsume wearing a middle school uniform..

ok...it seems that everything were clear now......they were'nt in the middle school yet.....natsume just disguised himself like hayate...so i think he stole hayate's pants in order for him to look like a middleschooler........and the scene where hayate woke up from a sudden sleep can quitely explains that
