This was just beautiful in every sense of the word.
The carefully hinted at-not-quite-oh-but-it's-there relationship of mismatched sorts, was completely and utterly beautiful in such a vacant, devoid way. It said/conveyed/felt so many little things in so many ways. This one-shot made me feel what so many Shoujo's fail to do. The way this story was written was so simple, and yet so layered in all the right places. I feel like the characters want to take the next step forward, but are so afraid of what awaits them at the next stop. So therefore, they will always be in the same place till one breaks, or crumbles away. The author has such a beautifully vague style, and the artwork is simply beautiful. "A mighty pain to love it is, And 'tis a pain that pain to miss; But of all pains, the greatest pain It is to love, but love in vain."
