I tried searching for a thread with this topic but there was none to be found
the summary isn't really enticing and i don't want to waste my time reading another "bad" manga
so~ is it worth reading? why?

If you don't really want to waste your time I'll give a summary per part. (sorry 4 my bad English.... It's not my native language)

Introduction (Chapter 1-7)

Moore, a police officer got a report about people missing in the deserted church. There, she's find the truth about AKUMA, a weapon created from tragedy and saved by an Exorcist that happen to pass. Allen Walker. Allen explain to her how AKUMA made and leave her after destroying the AKUMA.

Allen aiming to be an official exorcist by going to the Exorcist organization HQ, The Black Order. While then, he met a son of one of the scientist in Black Order, Jan. He exposed about AKUMA too much until the Earl got his attention to him. Here, Allen saved Jan and exposed the truth about his curse.

Allen arrived at Black Order HQ. There, he's wrongly guessed as the Earl's comrade due to his curse and threatened by the Exorcist Kanda Yu. After clearing the misunderstanding he got to enter the Order and got his explanation about Anti-Akuma weapon, Innocence, and the Background of the war. Then officially become the Exorcist of Black Order.

Ghost of Matel (Chapter 8-16)

Allen got his first mission as the Exorcist of Black Order to retrieve an Innocence in Matel with Kanda Yu. The Innocence believed to be the cause of the strange phenomenon in Matel known as "Ghost of Matel". There, Allen got his evolved Anti-Akuma weapon and learned about the evolving Akuma from Level 1 to Level 2 and the relation with the spirit within it and the harsh of the war his involved in.

Intermezzo : The Case of Black Order Destruction (chapter 17-18)

Allen back to the HQ after the mission while Kanda go to another mission. What the got there is the rampage of the robot that Supervisor Komui made, Komurin II. In the end, the robot destroyed by Lenalee Lee, previously introduced as Supervisor Assistant, with her Innocence, Dark Boots.

Rewinding Town (chapter 19-26)

The next mission is to retrieve Innocence that believed to make a town rewinding on 9th October. The order sent some people there, but no one can enter the town due to the Innocence effect. So Allen and Lenalee sent there to retrieve the Innocence. Here, they met a mysterious girl named Road Kamelot that claimed to be the True Apostle, the Noah Family, that stab Allen's cursed left eye with a sharp candle. Not only that, they got a new comrade, Miranda Lotto, the source of this case and the conformer of the Innocence in the case.

Doubt (chapter 27-30)

While hospitalized because the injury from the previous mission, Allen met another 2 exorcist from Bookman clan. The one called Bookman and the other called Lavi. While Bookman explained what he know about the Noah Family to Komui, Lavi took a stroll with Allen. There, Allen without his left eye become doubting human in case one of them is Akuma and become afraid being in the human crowd. Seeing Allen, Lavi told him about how another exorcist fight without know which Akuma which human. Then after strengthen his resolve, Allen destroy the Akuma crowd.

Then they back to hospital, and Komui give them another mission. That is to find and assist a certain Exorcist General that gone missing for 4 years which is Allen's master, General Cross Marian.

The Vampire of the Secluded Castle (chapter 31-40)

Lenalee still mad on Allen because the case on the Rewinding Town case and told him not to lift his head, then crying and run to the train. Allen felt guilty about that. Then Allen caught by a strange person and miss the train while Lenalee and the other ride it, so Lavi come back using his Innocence to search for Allen.

There, the townspeople seems to be having a problem with they so-called "Vampire" that killed some townspeople. At first, Allen and Lavi won't help them, but after hearing this case related to General Cross, they help the townspeople to exterminate the Vampire.

The Vamipre turned out to be a conformer with parasitic type Innocence on his teeth so he looks like a vampire while he's not. After destroying his lover that turned out to be an Akuma, the Vampire, Arystar Krory the 3rd, burn his castle and join the Exorcist party to search for General Cross Marian.

Premonition (chapter 41-43)

Allen, Lavi, and Krory ride on the train to group with another teammates. Krory that rode train for the 1st time, took a stroll in the train and caught up playing poker with 3 strange person and beaten up badly. There, Allen replace Krory with his Exorcist uniform as bet and ended up beating all the opponent.

After parted with Allen and the others, they (That strange persons) took up a shelter in some mine until suddenly a phone ring and called one of them that turned out to be a Noah Family, Tyki Mikk. Tyki meet up with the Earl and given a mission to "erase" some people there.

Meanwhile, Kanda and his team manage to team up with their general, General Froi Tiedoll. There, he heard about one of his student, Daisya Barry was killed. Daisya was one of the victim of the Noah Tyki Mikk, in total 148 dead which is 6 Exorcist and 142 Finder.

I think this is enough to judge, even the interesting part come after this

This manga is, like everybody before me has already replied, more than worth reading.
Its well thought-out plot, the brilliant characters (not to mention pairings :'D) and of course art style are all mentionable ;D
I've been reading it since chapter 3, so a true veteran, and this manga certainly managed to succeed all of my expectations.

It's worth reading, but the art is slightly changed in the last few chapters, and the story is in a rapid movement. I know a lot of fans will not agree, but I liked the first chapters of D.Gray-man better.

i'll recommend watching the anime first then reading the manga from where the anime stopped : ) that's what i did. But this is a very good one.

this is one of my favorite manga : D it's really awesome and gets more and more intresting and exciting *__* the characters are really cool too :3 I definitely would recommend you to read the manga! the anime wasn't as good as the manga and the art is much more awesome >.<
