As a character Sakura makes it no where near the top of my favorite characters in the series.

But I cannot see how anyone can really bash her for her latest actions. When I read the latest chapter's title I knew what was coming. And sure enough, it came, and will soon pass. I believe that her actions seemed the most human after seeing how the Kages behave with one another. I can see what Kishimoto was doing, however, I can't say it was really needed.

Defending Sakura may seem like an insubstantial waste of time, not to mention arguing it being a moot point with all you people posting thread after thread about 'how much of a bitch she is' and whatnot. But I felt like playing devil's advocate, and damnit that's what I'm going to do.

All I can say is it makes sense. Sakura, as a character has been portrayed, for the majority of the series, as a weak character, with exception to the Sasori arc. If anyone is familiar with Touhou, I'd go as far as to say Sakura is very much like Alice. If not, then look it up because Touhou is awesome, and I'm sure most of you Otaku will love it. But back to the point; how would you expect a relatively weak character like Sakura to act in this situation?

after what sakura did, i put her lower on my list, i dont regard her as bit(h yet. She is just really naive. She is weak in a sense but she is just not over showing her power, remember in the beginning of shippuden when she smashed the big @$$ rock with her bare hands, remember she was tsunades apprentice, so she just knows better than to be a show off.

Naruto is the one who really gets me po'd XD. I will post the same thing as i posted in the other thread:

If she had simply been lying to him, that would indeed be wrong, Naruto never said she was lying to him exactly, but to herself... Sakura and Sasuke (heck anybody and Sasuke) has been the most superficial one-sided attraction in the series. Whatever the case, she at least has good reasons for liking Naruto unlike with Sasuke. Is she lying? Maybe exaggerating, but she's certainly matured/ taken a step forward than the complete lie that liking Sasuke was. Naruto is such a naive idealist as Itachi pointed out when they last met, and may be calling her a liar for these reasons. If she didn't love him, she wouldn't have gave up on Sasuke for him or confessed to him like that... It takes a lot to do that. Though, Naruto could also be extremely shocked and unable to believe in a dream he had turned over in his mind many times but long since given up on suddenly coming true... this second option is less likely. Really it depends on Kishimoto's view and who he agrees with... usually it's been Naruto unfortunately. Though, Sakura's matured now, and hopefully set this up so that Naruto could mature, not so he could wave around his idealistic delusions. Really, Naruto thinks that every decision needs to be made based on feelings, so that when someone actually uses logic he spazzes out. He should realize that people make decisions based on different things, and that this does not invalidate their decision.

Hell i can see why everybody can bash sakura. Its mainly because she was Inconsiderate of naruto's feelings plus she lied to herself about loving him which is just as bad if not worse. Sure it was right for her to want naruto to stop chasing Sasuke but did she have to go about it like that?

What I really wanted to get at when I originally posted this thread, but never seemed to get around to doing, is that people seem to be overly incriminating Sakura for something that, to canon and character, were completely reasonable. On top of that I also wanted to add that Naruto won't likely flip out, or have some kind of awkward moment. It'll probably end up with Sakura crying about Sauske and Naruto consoling her. But here I am leading this thread into the theory's sub-forum.

What it really comes down to is that people are taking Sakura's little stunt way too seriously and not paying attention to the context in which said stunt was delivered. And to Sakura's credit, being tasked to treat Sauske as a criminal is a daunting if not nightmarish idea. She's a weak character, and a desperate one at that.

Is there any sincerity behind her lie? Maybe. But more importantly, you must ask yourself, put in her position what other action she could have taken that would be reasonable to her as a character.

Just keep in mind I'm not a Sakura fan, I honestly couldn't care less about the 'pairings' in the Naruto series. I just wanted to point for...some reason I honestly can't remember. Perhaps it's the lack of movement in the damn story that i have to resort to this. =\

the real question is that why is she 3 main character of this series i mean i know The show naruto is about a kid that is determined to do whatever it takes to become hokage and for him to be able to do that he has to show that hes a good leader and other stuff and he must bring sasuke and shit but why isnt sakura part of the minor character like shikamaru kiba ino hinata and shino and neji ten ten and rock lee

instead sakura is part of the main character goup like team 7 The show is about naruto and asuke so i dont get why sakura isnt part of the minor charavcters

If she's lying, she's making a fool of herself in front of everyone. They all know she's lying! Y would she do this to Naruto, it only makes him want to go after Sasuke even more. It's completely embarrassing for both of them and I don't think it was necessary, maybe kishimoto just wanted to put some love/drama in the manga haha

Of course we know Sakura had good intentions trying to free Naruto from his promise, and i respect that. It was the right thing to do: Settling scores with Naruto.
BUT why did she had to tell him "I love you" when she does not? that only hurt Naruto further.
And after she told the other Konoha 12 "i will do the talk" thing, i was especting she having some sort of plan to try reasoning with Naruto about their common choice of taking care of Sasuke, or telling him forget about Sasuke, or something. But then she goes there taking Naruto for an imbecile in love with her, cofessing her false feelings to convince him. That wasn't the right thing to do.
