now i've brought this up in another thread and i just had to start a new one based around the idea...an idea which has no doubt been brought up before but hey i'm the new guy so go easy and gather round:

i enjoy and much prefer the idea of ciel having the distorted view of sebastian as a father-figure based on the fact that he is all ciel has and sebastian's suspicious resemblance to ciel's deceased father (did ciel choose sebastian's human form based on that?) but sebastian simply views ciel as a future meal but is perhaps getting closer to ciel......in a paternal way not a romantic way!!

i love that kind of deep complex relationship that is alot more interesting than simple yaoi - "impossible romance" as undercoverwitch put it perfectly in another thread.

i would very much like to see your suggestions and ideas based on this silly little theory

It's an interesting theory, I have to admit, but I still like the Sebastian and Ciel pairing.
Honestly, I think it's a valid idea, but I really can't tell what toboso san is thinking, considering the lastest chappie. (that is, if you read it...i really don't know what's running through her brain, lol)
Based on Sebastian's usual indifference, and slightly mocking tone, he's pretty aloof. Yet when he shows the occasional softness towards Ciel, it's possible it might be a "father figure" love.

However, I just love the idea of sebby and Ciel together. It's too hilarious, and I mean, they totally deserve each other anyways. It's a happy, cute idea that fangirls hold on to in the midst of all that tragedy and darkness. I can't bear the idea of Lizzy with Ciel. Ick. It's too hard for me to imagine them.

Honestly seeing Ciel and Sebastian making out would throw my image of Kuroshitsuji out the window...
I love their relationship as it is.
And Ciel isn't gay XD Bluntly put, I know, but he's not.
Sebastian sometimes approaches him, talking with his sexy voice and touching him or staring in his eyes, Ciel never blushes. I have no idea how the fan-girl vision works in their case, but I guess the fans picture Ciel with teary eyes and red cheeks ^^"
Call me crazy, but I doubt Ciel cares that incredibly much about Sebastian. We're giving Ciel too much credit. He has a soft spot for him indeed, since he's the demon that was always with him, but in the end, he's the one who'll eat Ciel's soul... I can't deny that Sebastian feels some sort of admiration for Ciel.
It's quite complicated, but I'm sure none of them is capable of falling for the other.

I'm happy a thread like this was started. I was actually planning to write something like this myself, but I was scared that rabid SxC fans would flame (Hey, fans don't get mad at me for saying this! I'm new to this fandom and I'm used to obsesses KxT fangirls from the TRC forums -_-).
I have never shipped Sebastian x Ciel and I will probably never ship it. The fact that I ship Sebastian x Grell has nothing to do with it (I ship Grell with everyone, even with Beast of the Circus Arc!). I have always been a fan of stories that show real, strong platonic love between characters, either of the same sex or the opposite one! I'm still young (13 years, probably the youngest on this forum), but I plan to be a writer (I've already written some chapters of my novels) and I plan to put that kind of relationships in my works.
Anyway, you can clearly see that the author of Kuroshitsuji meant Sebastian's and Ciel's relationship to be ambigous and hard to define. Until it will be clearly said that they love each other romantically, I will not ship it. Anyway, I'm not a fan of these, pardon me for using that word, "pedo" relationships. I accept kid x kid, but not kid x adult/adult appearing being, hell no!

Yeah, I pretty much agree with Undercoverwitch

It's just that they are shipable, and I do enjoy the doujinshi's & fanfiction of them but I really don't want to see something romantic or the like, happen between the 2 of them.

That would indeed ruin the whole story for me

Well, even I don't like shonen-ai/yaoi in the official manga/anime. I prefer to see Seb x Ciel doujins and fan arts. Yaoi in the official thing will definitely ruin it for me.

1) I heard from various places that Yana actually wants to make the manga a BL or a yaoi, but her editor won't let her.

2) @Undercover: My memory might be a bit fuzzy, but I think I remember several incidents where Ciel blushed BECAUSE of Sebby.
