There's a theory I have about Medaka that I've been floating around in my head. That theory goes beyond Medaka's insecurity and denial of who she is and goes into something deeper. Namely, the fact that Medaka seems incapable of abstract thought... or possibly even emotion. This would lead to her lack of understanding of people and of things like love and friendship, which would help confirm Unzen's assessment of her just doing things to try and fit in.
Basically, it's like this: For example, a person can adapt to various situations they've never been in before, like fixing a flat tire. Say, it's the first flat you've ever had, but you've never had to change one, so you're not quite sure how. However, common sense would say that you need to somehow lift the car up, remove the tire and put the new one on and through rational thought, you'd figure out how to use the jack and spare tire. Medaka would be at a complete loss, because she lacks the creative process and imagination that normal people have. She can only use what she's been taught because she's incapable of learning something on her own. It makes me wonder if she has the ability to even dream. Several things throughout the manga have given credence to this, though it may be a stretch in some cases. First there's her "friendship" with Zenkichi. She says that Zen is her friend, yet she doesn't treat him any differently than anyone else, so it makes it hard to believe that. We know they've been together since they were kids, but as Zen put it, it's more like she dragged him around and forced him to do things. After all, if what Unzen said is true, and Medaka is just emulating people to fit in, then this could extend all the way back to her childhood. When she was taught about friendship, she learned that friends spent a lot of time together (hence dragging Zenkichi around), they play together (aka beat the crap out of Zenkichi... or training, whichever you prefer), and aren't as shy around each other, which is why she has no qualms stripping in front of him. To her, it's perfectly logical as it's what she was told. Emotion and such doesn't factor into it. Secondly, there's the "bike" incident. When she fights she takes the guy's bike, she grabs it and says "This is not how you properly ride a bike!" almost as if she didn't even realize he was going to use it as a weapon. Third, there's Unzen. After she fought him, she didn't realize anything about her own "anger" issues (aka Perses mode) and other problems until he told her about them. Then she responded with "You taught me something good." Fourth, there's Nabeshima punching Unzen's sister. Medaka says "I was never taught that" about Judo, so if it came down to it, she probably never would have thought of even using a fist. Basically, she needs to be taught something to make use of it, as she couldn't just figure out on her own that someone who's trained in Judo can punch as well. She had to be told about it. Fifth, there's the talk between her and Nabeshima. She didn't do anything to fight back because "she had no reason to dodge". It took Nabeshima explaining it to her for her to learn to fight back before something bad happens. True, there are some things that can refute this (like her knowing enough to grab all the balls at once during the swim tournament and her donning the dog costume to try to get the dog to like her), but it's still an interesting concept. |

She´s abnormal.
Reason means nothing to her, i mean she can almost walk on water or drive a bike the stair up, break down the half of school, taking 25 kilo balls and survie it etc etc. Why bothering reason? Maybe it´s because of something insde her brain, like the part where emotions and abstract thinking are, they are underdevelopement which is dangerous when she lost her logically thinking and starts to berserk. Just another theory. Would be funny if they could fix that problem with surgeory and Medaka will end up as a normal school girl without any abnormal power. XD |

And Medaka is actually a guinea-pig in a very big experiment later will be revealed in this manga. She is an android. And it may or may not have something to do with her parents One more thing, there maybe others like her out there, who, are definitely nothing like the extremely lame villains in this manga currently. And oh, Zenkichi will be exposed to have the key to access Medaka 's CPU ( somewhere in his DNA maybe) and then he can control Medaka with a remote. (I like it that way lol) Oh, and then, Medaka goes nuts after an accident, Zen freaks out and she snaps his head off THE E N D

Sometimes it's not enough merely to know something - you have to know that someone else knows. Or that they know that you know that they know that ... These considerations lead to the concept of common knowledge, and it makes a difference. Once something has become common knowledge, it becomes possible to make deductions about other people 's reasoning. |
