I think their editor lasts words is the end for their collaboration. No way they can work again together
But they just have sign a one year contract on the other hand so they can't write for another magazine. When they sign this contract 2 chap ago without having a serie running i was telling myself that wasn't a good idea cause they will lose liberties and decisions or way to threatens to do what they want. And the worst just came today...

How the future look for them?
I think the only solution is for jump to give them a new editor but that wouldn't go easily. However they can't work with mister gag manga now he have hurt their pride and said the only taboo words
Knowing takagi he is not the type to go back on his decisions or on his pride. It's him who have bring saiko in this manga world and build things according to his trusts and he is too intelligent to go back on this.He was the most open to consider each solutions but when he decide something he ll never go back

On another hand we can say this event have strengthen takagi and saiko team...but trials will be hard now cause their only solution with their contract is to blast off their editor in jump eyes to have a new one or refuse to do anything till the one year contract end

The editor's suggestion was equal to Ashrogi saying they want to replace him with another editor. In that case how would he have reacted? Takagi was right for walking out.
Am not a big fan of gag manga so am rooting for Future Watch.

well i dont think what editor said was completely wrong . if author and artist style wont match with each other its better to change their partner .
and Ashirogi was not a successful pair cus Trap got canceled half way . and in one shots they couldnt get better than 9 .

really?I dont think that the editor was right at all (although i pity him) but the editor irritates me always by his ways of handling ashirogi muto..I wish they would change back to their old editor instead..

Lol i call this having no argumentation so trying to divide to reign. especially coming from a young editor with no background who have just use stats to strentengh his own taste and view on shonen. its not coming from the editor in chief of jump or from a successfull mangaka and readers have vote future watch front ten10. actually miura is just a man who will ask gag to all mangaka he will have to take care off..thats so dumb. if he don't evolve he have no future in jump
Miura don't care about ashirogi as an artist and only cares about himself and his career and see all this as a battle since he have been humiliate front others editors when ashirogi present future watch to treasure contest. he is still locked on this and can't see anything else
if stats wasn't in his way he will just have use another trick and wouldn't even have shown them to ashirogi, he is just trying to show he was right and i think he is also going to kill kenichi cause kenichi is still young,alone and is easier to fear than ashirogi
How many artist have been told they were bad then meet success just changing editor/producer and not only in manga world. its quite worst with cinema cause investments are huge and there is lot of world sucess which have been refused for years like "star wars" or besson works like "the big blue"(yea im european^^) for example.
Lol i still laugh at the universal guy who told star wars and SF had no future and they ll prefer a comedy like american graffiti to be sure to get their money back. This guy must had been murdered by universal president and the result was Lucas and Besson have become the biggest independants producers in usa and europe when they get some money cause they couldn't bear these guy who know nothing and dictate their view with stats and financial reports. marketing is only good to sold a product not to create it

well i think editor is too forceful and idiot and all too , but if you think about his opinion its not really wrong .
see we are talking about shounen manga . what people who buy shounen magazines want to read is BATTLE .
a cool hero + some bad ass enemy + some humor = typical shounen manga
they dont want to do battle manga so what about gag ?
you think gag mangas are stupid and all but actually they are really popular for young readers . and when you think you are hiting the limit in jokes you can change it in to a battle one . lots of mangas started with gag .
as i was saying gags are popular for young readers . see when they become fan of a manga in age of 11-12 they would continue buying and reading it for many years but when your readers are 19 years old how many more years will they be your fan ? buy your manga and suport it ? most of them would be to busy with work and study . if you put aside genius mangakas whom can become hit in few chapters most off popular mangas are those whom have been in safe and normal ranking list . they did they manga for few years ( 2-3-4-... ) and in the time they become more famous and popular .
well if ashirogi want to do a dark manga with serious story and art First they should improve their characters . a serious manga ( seinen like ) need character with depth . and as they say many time in this manga ashirogi characters are flat .
i said all those things but in reality i dont like the editor guy too . my favorite editor is the editor of Otters 11( the ediotr of that mangaka whom runs away from work all the time )

the editor does irritate me ALOT but i feel mashiro could have tried to cooperate/compromise at the least.
i mean, the editor's idea of starting with gag and ending with serious wasn't all that bad.
but yes, the last thing the editor said was WAY out of line

I've to say that I pity the guy even though I hate him. It doesn't matter for me what they do, but if they said that their style isn't gag manga then the editor shouldn't bring gag manga out. Also, the editor said too much this time, and he should really be careful with his words.

And Takagi said that gag manga didn't suit him, not the other way around. The only reason he agreed with the editor now was because of the data he saw.

Beside, he have already said that he never want anyone else than Mashiro to draw for him. So if Mashiro refuse then Takagi would probably stop writing too.

It was successful. But because Mashiro was hospitalized and the boss put Trap on hiatus the readers started on other Manga to fill the gap. So when they finally got back most of their readers had other series they followed instead.

Blame the boss for Trap´s closure, not them. If they had been allowed to continue it would have been a even greater hit than it was.
