Default >>Reason why the ending was bad<<

Okay, toooo much bothersome "WTF ENDING" threads, I decided to go ahead an start one for any readers that might happen to stumble across this even though the manga is like way old.

Why did the ending suck so much?

Here is a small description on how the system in Shueisha, publisher of the ever so popular Shounen Jump where all your Shounen comic come from ranging from Naruto to the not so popular Akaboshi or Beelzebub, works.

So here is how the system works.

In every issue of Weekly Shounen Jump there is a voting card, in this voting card there is 3 or 5 I cant remember lines where you can vote for your favourite manga of the week and submit it by i dont know how. It is depending on these votes that they decides whether the manga stays or dropped/ get "AXED" , note this word carefully because you might see it very often.

The axe was probably swung on the chapter "Magic Debut?!" , in the next 5 chapter the author has to hurry an ending for the series. The boobie chapter was probably to either get the vote up in hope that the manga series getting cancelled will be revoked or just to try something out for his next series.

One contributing reason was probably the lack of an anime to push it on, probably due to some reason the author refused an anime like wanting it to reach 100 chapters so the anime could live longer or no one recognize the potential in this manga, another reason was probably that teenagers are getting bored of Kuzumi's gimmicks, which I really cant see how, I was really in love with the manga, probably too many competitors.

SO YEAH I EXPLAINED IT. GEEZ.

Pretty much what I heard too, the manga just wasn't popular enough and was forced to have an early ending. When my friend and I were reading that boobie chapter we were both mystified as to why the mangaka would suddenly go supper ecchi on us but didn't pay it too much mind. After that things picked up way too fast and when ch 99 came out we were already aware of the end of Mx0.

It's sad that decent titles like this get the axe because they're not as popular as say Naruto, Bleach, or One Piece. But that's part of the industry, really it's part of any entertainment industry. For years I sat and watched as great shows on TV, namely Sci-Fi stuff, got axed because it just wasn't producing the ratings, Firefly is a perfect example.

In any case there might come a day that Mx0 is picked back up but I'm not holding my breath... it's a shame but thems the breaks.

Could not agree more, especially your comment on Firefly. Luckily the fans almost rioted and got a movie made, (3 years later) lol that somewhat explained most things and wrapped it up decently enough for me to personally not to riot... still they should bring it back, awesome series.

yes it was an awesome series and i would truely hope that some day it would come back alive in some way, it was truely good it just wasnt advertised enough to be recognized as the awesomeness that it was. god knows i nearely bought a plane ticket to japan to kill the people who axed the series when i got to the end.

If I had the money, I would have published the damn thing myself.

Let's get to work to pay mangaka's bills then.

No, seriously, it is sad to see that they dropped such an amazing manga. Not just the concept was great (the dropout bein seen as the no. 1 on the whole school), but the way he managed to stay on that possition for over 6 months. On the chapter where Lucy gets buffed up, I thought the manga was going to become something awfull (the hero getting to the treasure, and then some terrible thing happens and he loses it), but after that I realized that it was needed to get Lucy into the story. I just wonder what the 4rd. year commite was like, or what does Kuzuki means when he says "I think he stared wierdly at me" after the class competitions. Were Daimon going to be the last enemy? Too much stuff left aside
