So I just read the chapter and wow, is my head spinning with a bunch of random thoughts. I want to share these thoughts, but the most pressing thing is:

- Ok, wait, the narration suggests that the narrator (presumably the new guy who appears in this chapter) is "writing" the chapter (and the next chapter) from an x amount of years AFTER the events of this chapter (and the next one) happen. EH?!!?!?!?!?!? WTF?! Does this mean the whole story was always told like that, or is this just a temporary narrator change from Ciel to the new guy (I always assumed Ciel or Sebastian was "telling" the story in the previous chapters)?

Now for the next things....

Those Charles guys....intrigue me....for some odd reason, I can't help but think that they're demons, too. Or something supernatural (I would say Angels based on their eyelashes, but....). They just strike me as very suspicious....

And....

Who the hell is that in front of the window? And why does he/she remind me of Sebastian?

That's all.

Although I wonder what's up with the Queen.....please don't let her end up like the anime!Queen......I really hated how she ended up in the anime....

I just finished reading chapter 38 and I 'm so sad about what happened to Sebastian.
And he doesn't look like he's faking it. I'm worried about him.
And about the part with the queen. I just assumed it's Ciel and Sebastian reporting back to the queen.
Oh please I don't want the anime ending.

He said he would tell us about that day only, and what happened. Though, I must say that I'm wtf'd at a lot of thing's in this chapter!
- The meaningless fight
- The meaningless epic flower stitching (xD)
- And the fact that the whole damn chapter was a cliff hanger! Gah! I have been left hanged!
Mmmm, I don't think that those guy's we're demons.. Just, weird... Haha I sense major trouble with them tho.
Also, I think that person talking to the queen was a guy, the queens messenger perhaps?._. ?? dear lord I'm confused!

@Kissy: I don't think he's faking it. His facial expression is nearly identical to the one he had when he got shot in the head that one time.

@Aqua: Yes, and the fact that he said that in the context ht he's actually somewhere years from when it happened is what puzzles me.

Yeah, the guy looks like a guy a bit and might be the Qeen's messenger, but why does he look so much like Sebby....

i think i agree with 'kirvee'- he's definately faking it. That expression looks a little fishy. And as for the window thing: perhaps Sebastian is playing a double role? I highly doubt it, but it is a thought. And those two "Charles' are defianately weird too. Maybe they have something to do with why Sebastian ended up like that? They attacked him? Set a trap? Or are they ALSO demons/angels? I have to say, they looked like they had his reflexes...... and the little one looked almost as cute as Seb too :P

I'll take a wild guess and say that those double charles people are demons. idk why really...it's a weird gut feeling :/
and the whole noblesse oblige reason for ciel to accept on entertaining the "queen's relative" smells like a huge trap for me.

edit: i was reading a japanese blog... and yeah..it kinda pointed something out to me. wasn't there a philip character introduced before? and she said maybe it's a misprint or are they really different characters?

All of the three Queens guards have been mentioned before in Queens letter at the start of circus ark.
These three are John, Philip ang Grey.
We've seen John before in Curry ark.
If they really are demons, the Queens guards, wouldn't Sebastian or Ciel react to it somehow? I've gotten the image, that Ciel has met them before, so as Sebastian.
They're probably humans with inhuman skills, just like Agni.

I believe the guy in the window is Ciel, reporting the happenings to the queen.
The fight and stitching were not meaningless. The scenes were like introductions to readers. We now know about their skills and personality. And like they said at the very chapter, they "tested the security".

@Dark and Elunnie: Yes, that was precisely one of the reasons they raised my suspicions on "Are they human?". That and their eyelash color. I mean, who in any world has white eyelashes and calls it normal? And there's just something about the smaller one's eyes in general that seem to scream "inhuman" to me....

@Elunnie: I smell a trap too, especially considering the Queen's face (kinda) and the mini-interrogation the Charles' did. But I wonder why she's doing something like this now of all times. I mean, as far as I remember, Ciel never really lied in his letters like he did in the one for the Circus Arc's missions.

@Hai: The guy in the window can't be Ciel, his silhoutte is too large for him. Honestly, from the two panels where you can see any of him, he looks like Sebastian. But it can't be either of them because IIRC, Ciel has his report letters sent with a messenger, he doesn't deliver them himself and I don't think Sebastian has ever delivered one himself either.

WTF is up with the last page!? THAT could never happen to Sebastian, NEVER! NO!
