Ok so this is basically my complaining post about everything that I don't like in Deadman Wonderland.

First of all, Ganta's personality is still cruddier than... Anything. To make it clearer, he doesn't have a personality whatsoever. He's just "doing the right thing" and "saying the right thing" all the time.

WEIRD!

Another thing is that thing with the psycho sister and the brother. I don't believe that they can have such a big attitude change just after those small events. If she was truly as psycho as she was in the beginning, the realistic turn of events would be that she stayed that way, no matter what.

I think that's what's bothering me about this whole manga. For some reason, the mangaka/writer keeps on trying to stick "a sense of humanity and care" into random places in the manga to make it less depressing. Yeah I guess that's a pretty good reason to try to say something like "perhaps there is some goodness in this evil world after all *tear*" but honestly, it just seems really forced and artificial.

It makes me feel like on one hand, there's this really weird and light-hearted brutality going on (ever notice how all the creepy things that they do to the experiments are downplayed due to the interjections of comic relief in the FREAKIN BAD GUYS?!?!???) and then on the other hand, there's this kind of "it's us against the world; let's bond!" kind of situation and seriously man, they're not mixing very well. = =

I gotta say though. For some reason I'm really addicted to this manga. I mean, yeah, I complain about it nonstop but the intrigue and plot twists just keep me coming back for more. (Is it masochism? I think it is. )

I agree with you about Ganta, but I disagree about the mood bouncing the manga does. It needs to be balanced or else it'll just be dark, I do agree it does seem artificial at times but I guess I expected it with the typical weak useless kid who suddenly becomes the strong hero type formula in it.

About the pyscho sister...she still is technically psycho. She was doing the whole "fake" thing just to get to Ganta...it's apparent everyone knew about her true self...they just chose to not say anything. She just played Ganta but got beat and he joined the club. Now that he's part of the club of "psychotic"murderers...there's no need to go lobbing his head off for no apparent reason.

It's obvious they're being used and they know that. They only kill each other in the "game" which you could argue makes this an unrealistic prison if you believe that's all prisoners do in prison.

oh im sorry, when did you get your Master's degree in Human Psychology? If you actually paid attention to some of the humour you so hate, you would find that she actually is still the same mentally, but she has no need to be super psycho. If anyone can remember the "Nimama" thing, then you would agree with me.

Haha wow thanks. I'll definitely take that as a compliment.

What do you mean she has no need to be super psycho though? I thought "being psycho" was just a state that she was in...

Oh wait. I get it! It's like she was pulling on the "mental mask" of being sadistic so she won't get hurt. That makes sense but I just wonder if it was real life, would she be able to just let go of that protective front so easily. (Well, I guess Ganta is the "hero" of the story so technically he is supposed to go around and give people redemption from "the darkness of their hearts" or whatever. =/)

Well either way. I guess that this is just a manga after all and I shouldn't have such high expectations.

I wouldn't necessarily say that...she's still "nutso" in all her responses. She's still a little off, she just doesn't see everyone as a tool to be used anymore and not just because of Ganta but her brother as well. I'd say a portion of her mental barrier has been torn down but not all of it. I think she's gone to long playing the role to be deemed perfectly sane now...well none of them can be perfectly sane cept those who probably committed minor crimes and Ganta.
