just read it a little while ago and i am very sad that one guy who bullies modern day arata (hinohara i guess ) finds out about the two arata and is taken to that other world never like the guy i find him to be very annoying now it seems he will be in a big part of the story like maybe a rival or something to that arata. I'm also guessing that mystery shou guy who got that bully from the other world is his look alike like with the two arata.I wonder what thoughts you guys have on it

what a stupid person, i mean really!, i mean the bullying was going overboard, but i understood his frustration, but to go so far ALL THE TIME!
it's an obsession!, just because he stole his spot on a Basketball team, i mean COME ON!, to blame Arata for EVERYTHING is seriously...messed up...i think that guy has some serious family issues, serious problems. maybe he's mental? o-o;;

I'm in no way defending Kadowaki and his psycho-emo rage, but his hatred for Hinohara does not stem from the actions themselves (i.e. beating him in track, taking the basketball team spot). That's only the surface issue.

The real reason for his hatred for Hinohara is the way Kadowaki interprets his personality after he bests him, and the way Hinohara acts around others when he's not ostracized from his peer. Kadowaki interprets Hinohara's cool-headedness after the matches between them as nonchalance and arrogance. In his mind, Hinohara is not the good person that the story generally portrayed him as the past 45 chapters, and before Kadowaki went batshit crazy in 44, there were even chances for one or the other to be an unreliable narrator. Had Kadowaki actually seen Hinohara display some competitive effort from his actions and emotions, his character would have never gone in the direction it has now.

there's also the fact that he possesses extreme paranoia, inner rage, a violent constitution and a fierce competitive need. he's obviously the "glass half-empty" type, perhaps a victim of his own circumstances, but he does nothing to actually better his situation, he simply finds a (not very good) outlet via bullying others and, mostly, placing the blame squarely on Hinohara.
the thing is, i think, his family situation's crap and someone happened to better him at that very monumental time (Hinohara, whom i don't think actually "stole" his position - more what-his-name unable to handle his own inferiority - and then later on his seniors); and so wrongly blames and vents his problems upon the easy target, Hinohara, which seems to become an obsession (ie if he would just disappear, my problems would disappear.)
my interpretation: the guy's a freak. just kidding more maturely, his negative feelings seem to manifest themself into an obsessive need to take SOMEONE down in order to boost his own feelings of suprieority.
he gets pissed off when the seniors say he's nothing without his father - and yet depends on a KNIFE to get his (unclear) point across. all in all, the boy needs some serios counselling

Character's problems aside, I think these types of characters are just too plain easy to make. Frankly, I really hate it when when these kind of mentally-challenged characters become the antagonist and warrants me to drop it all together. Just shows the author isn't good enough to make an antagonist with more than 1 dimension. Character with only 1D also makes futures easy to guess. I'm sure everyone can already guess the entire future of this story with some details.
