Default Translator's Otoyomegatari research

Uh, hi, guys. It's me, your humble editor/translator for Otoyomegatari (and Emma before that). Mogura is on this project too, and I see she's already found her way here.

I used to have someone who lived in the region Otoyomegatari is set in to help me with names, but he's disappeared. For Chapter 7 I had to leave most of the names pretty much as is, not having a good idea what actual names Kaoru Mori was going for.

We've been going back and forth between Pariya and Priya... but I'm pretty much convinced it's Pariya now... Pariya is Persian, whereas Priya is Indian.

When the next chapter is available in raws in two months (sob!) I will likely post some questions here having to do with terms, place names, names of characters, and whatnot. Some of you may know something useful.

I once emailed a random professor at a university to ask a science question, and they were more than happy to explain to me what I wanted to know. Perhaps you could find a cultural anthropology or history professor who specializes in Central Asia studies and ask for advise? Pick a university, find the social science department, and send an email.

Apparently Kaoru Mori has romanized the title as "The Bride's Stories," not "Young Bride's Story," in Otoyomegatari Volume 1. (Tho either of those would be an acceptable translation of the title.) So I may be changing to match that next chapter.
