Eh, I think is a matter of era. In old school days when this series was written, most authors are expect to put girls as the frail little thing to be saved. Girls, for most part, don't read this kind of stuff.

But then most of the old series were pretty lobotomized with 90% of the saints slaughtered each other than the enemy >.> At least now the silver/gold actually died killing enemies.

I hate Saori but LOVE Sasha that I keep wanting to cosplay her. She DOES kick ass and feel for her Saints instead of only for Tenma (remember her reaction to hearing the news about Tenma's death?).


Anyhow, to be fair to Saori, we must consider too that Sasha (and Tenma) was raised way differently from Saori (and Seiya) and she had more training as Athena, apart from had time to "bond" with most her Saints.

Sasha was a Orphan and what she said in Chapter 9 really reflect how "lowly" they (the Orphans) status are in their society.

"....Because we're only children, and nothing is given to us because we're orphans"

Saori on the other hand was raised with a GOLD Spoon in her mouth and never did have any Goddess training nor got enough time to bond with her Saint except for the 4, so a lot of things she had to figure out herself.

Just like Cancer Deathmask vs Cancer Manigoldo :
Why Manigoldo turned out better than Deathmask?
Cause he got Sage to whack his head here and there! And of course, Sage also treat him like his son (or younger brother) so that kinda fill up the fatherly figure Manigoldo lack and craved for in his youth. That cause Manigoldo more than willing to sacrify himself, just so Sage can finish the fight and live.


But Sasha's little mistake recently really sadden me, tho we didn't expect it to have THAT outcome. Thot the most it'll go along the line of Next Dimension Saori but apparently this Hades got a lot of things all planned out (and seems to know too much too!).

Haahaa.....so am I and I had been into St Seiya since 1990; could had been earlier but I was only "collecting" card with their pictures from the Anime before 1990.

Then again, I was also into MASK, The Transformer, Robocop etc back then too.
