definetly YES, I think is a little obvious, maybe not at the great lenght they did in the anime, but I personally think that yes, soul eater still have a lot to show us o.O

Maka already has the black blood, great combat skills, a death scythe, a strange type of soul (called Grigori) and she is the only one with a soul perception ability able to see through the "soul protect" of witches! if she becomes half-weapon in the manga, she would be totally uber for me -_-U

Thats why i say they should have her awaken as a weapon cause that will truly even the feild between her blackstar and kid. cause bein a death scythe only really helps soul.

So if she awakens as a weapon that give her an advantage for her self if soul isn't around cause people like jutin law she can't fight by her self now there comin but can't fight them

Because Death the Kidd is not UBER at all...

Plus, have you noticed that Black Star not only has incredible strength and speed, not to mention a weapon to fit all occasions (even if they don't use many of the forms anymore ), but also a crazy power boost whenever he starts to think too much like White Star? Honestly, it's only when they started talking about the Grigori Soul that I thought, well, maybe Maka does have a place with these crazy strong lunatics. (And yes, pun totally intended.) Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Maka fan, but until recently, she's been the only "normal" one in this series.

Anyway... I both hope Maka becomes a weapon and hope she doesn't. It would be awesome to see how she and Soul worked through a challenge like that, but then again, it would really detract from the plotline, what with them having to start all over again in order to make Maka into a Death Scythe. In the end, I doubt they'll do this in the manga, but a fangirl can dream, right?

i also think they wont make maka in to a death scythe if she does awaken as a weapon only as a normal weapon girl nothen special just regular weapon born from a death sycthe an a tech the had the origanal anti-demon wavelenght not to mention a strong tech at that

im not sure, but I think they probably will, I think that mainly cause they probably think it's really cool and want to maybe re-work it in the manga more to ther taste, of course the ability's will probably change the ability's and the drawbacks to fit the manga,it might be something like Maka some how absorbs Soul to gain her weapon form, or they some how fuse as a last resort thing.

In my opinion, Maka's charm is NOT her perception or his abilities, Maka's true strength is that she knows that she is NOT as strong as Kid and BS are or any other enemies, Maka knows that she is a mere human, not a Shinigami as Kid is or a ninja with inhereted abilities as BS. I think that she is Kid's and BS's contrast: a human with "not incredible abilities" that is able to surpass evil witches and demons, if she becomes "uber" (aka, too many abilities), what would it say? that you have to have incredible abilities to surpass the evil? that you are useless as a "normal" human? that your strong soul, your willpower is not enough? I don't want Maka to become that :/ but that's my opinion, and I don't know Ohkubo's intentions or how he would use a "half-weapon Maka" that would be interesting or useful for the plot, so I can change my mind.

About Kid, he is a GOD not a human, so his skill level can't be compare in the same level as Maka's, so he is not "uber" because he is not human, he is not delimited in the same level.

I hope not, that would be too much. I think the weapon gean is really recessive, so if Maka's mom didn’t have the gean some where, than I don’t think Maka would have weapon capabilities.

okay i see yo point if she does become a weapon but maka and soul don't really use the black blood all the time so its not really a aid to them in battle
