Default would there ever be a possibility of a second season of kekkaishi?

i was just wondering why the anime stopped after the kokuborou arc. i mean it's not like it was unpopular it got really good reviews!!! so why did it have to stop i would have loved to see hiura animated XDDD and i'm just wondering if the kekkaishi manga became more popular would they make a second season of it??? it will probably never happen but i would love if it did XDDDD

i dunno if there will be a second season, but if its demanded and could turn some profit they make a 2nd season, but i doubt they would for a while. still at least we have the manga to read.

The end of the Kokuburou arc, along with having 52 episodes to its name, a common length for anime, created a nice juncture where it could end naturally. In addition, the manga needed time to get ahead of the anime since I don't think it was that far ahead when the anime ended.

However, other reasons may include ratings dropping, and losing its time slot, along with its big sponsor, as well.
