Well I know there have been many topics about that but I really don't understand what the author is doing with Kensuke.
I mean he shoud BE the hero so why is he so weak. Ok he's getting better slowy but after so many fightings he REALLY sucks!
Kagura is getting on my nerves too.
Why does Kensuke HAVE to always be by her side? Ok she LOVES kensuke too but she doesn't do for him as much he does for her -__-'
But well Ga-Rei was and is a really good manga.
But please give Kensuke a bigger role in the events and make him better a little QUICKER! He is WAY TOO MUCH powerless than Kagura.

My guess is, the anime had more fame than the manga and sold more, so the author is trying to show us some KaguraxYomi arcs, so he can sell more but it backfired IMO.

Well it may be true but it totally ruined what Ga-Rei was at the beginning.

i feel the same, i feel that there is possible coincidence that this arc was made to please the yomi and anime fans, look at the timing...the anime came out before this arc, and at the time, yomi was long gone and shizurus' sister was our main antagonist, which was great, until the end of the second arc, which was great, i loved the kiss and the fact that she was saved.... but pissed off when they memory loss kicked in, i accepted it, and that was fine..until izumi appeared, that was the point at which i really get annoyed with this series, i want it to get better, and i want this to go they way it was before for a long time, i just don't see a bright light at the end of the tunnel....sadly.

I agree with you somehow.. But i still think there's still a possible that the story will get better .....I read the Raw chapter too..but i see the picture..and read abit chinese word in their conversation( cause i don't know how to read japanese words)...i find the story getting exciting...Yomi and kagura that part maybe just awhile ba...Afterall.. we just have to wait patiently till it get better..but i think won't take long ba..Since the Raw chapter seems to be quite exciting.. You have read it too..You don't find it getting exciting? haha

My thoughts exactly, I mean seriously, wth is up with Kensuke being weak? He should be stronger than that, for the past few chapters hes been doing nothing but getting owned, especially at that public pool chapter with the fish.

I like this manga like this. It's diferent from others shonen.

And well, technically he is the main character because it's a shonen, but she seems much more the main character.
But I love it like this.

The problem that most people have with the current quality of the story is that the role of Kensuke has practically disappeared. Instead of being the main character he's supposed to be, he's become more of a supporting character. Unless the author gives him a larger role in the story, or reveals a huge twist that involves Kensuke, he'll lose many fans.

Well it IS shonuen , so a lot of readers expect the main char ....well to act like a main char. Almost everyone sees the series from the perspective of the main guy , and if he's weak , well it gets annoing

I have no problem with the MC of a shonen being relatively weak when compared to other characters. What I mean in this perspective is that the MC can be weaker then the antagonist and the supporting characters but I want a good reason for it. I.E Doesn't like to fight etc etc.

Sort of like the Kenichi at the beginning but like with Kenichi I want to see improvement. The last major power up we saw for Kensuke was when he got his new Michael. That has been completely overshadowed by Yomi and Kagura's power. Back in the Kyuubi arc we saw some decent swordplay by Kensuke. I am referring to the dimensional parting slash that ended that arc. Where did that go?

I believe the mangaka has taken the manga in the wrong direction and while giving your character a dose of humility is always a good thing you have to be careful because your readers like myself will not enjoy the storylines. I do not see Kensuke getting a bigger role anytime soon and because of that I will probably stop reading sometime around Chapter 50. Proving of course he does not get such a role by that time. If he does, awesome and I will continue reading.

Just not going to waste my time on a manga I do not enjoy reading which is the current case. I will give it a chance but no more then that. 6 chapters is a big chance for any storyline to change dramatically.
