Default The Answer To The Epidemic

It's something to do with the water, is what the manga seems to be saying.
I think this turn of plot seems to be quite smart and good.

For a good manga, I recommend Liar Game, described by some as the Manga which suceeds Death Note. It's jam packed with clever twists and maneuvers, and makes for an excellent read. I also recommend Gamble Fish, a less developed manga but one with equally mind-boggling events.

hmm...the water...not bad, but i still think the cause are the berries. firstly: probably they all drank from the water, but rion and yarai are uneffected. secondly, look at this:

it seems both rion and yarai didn't eat from the berries. well, we'll see the solution in the next chapter..

Genuis eureka moment, thanks.

I think your right, I'm betting it was the berries. So it's nailed down as coming from some water source, or from those berries growing about. I think that creature 'drowned' because of the symptoms, a result of being weakened. It probably was attempting to cool itself from the fever symptom or drink from the water. I've seen it in books, being a dino-nerd when I was a kid. I think it's a mammal, herbivore browsing on low vegetation, related to the family of elephant, manatee, rhino, etc. so the evidnce is valid, since it ate from the same food source as what the bunch of 'em gathered for supplies in the cave. Also, Rion was sensitive to a 'bad smell' and avoided the berry. Perhaps it was her instinct of smell, kinda like sight when seeing moldy green gunk growing off stale bread, warning the primal monkey brain of her's it was deadly.....PEPTO BISMAL radar? @w@ ANyway..... Curious to find out more about the pandemic, regardless of it's true origins. xD

Arrrrgh, can't wait for the next chapter. So bored.

PUNPUN FTW! ;D

khm. it's not that easy. it's probably too late to puke it out if it's food poisoning - probably their organism already absorbed the berries. it's similar to eating toadstool - even gastric lavage won't help. they need some kind of antidote.

ok i;m new to this so...hello..i guess...anyways i think that there might be 2 causes to this "epidemic"
1)first i think its because of the rats or squirrels because rodents usually carry infectious diseases (the black plague for e.g.) but this time it migth be an extinct virus....
2)it might also be a parasite because of the rhino/hippo creature : it wasnt acting its normal self it didnt attack the the group ; afterwards it went and drowned itself....i dont think hippos drown...there are parasites that forces their host to kill themselves so that they can get out after reaching some kind of growth...so yea i think the group ingested some parasite eggs while eating the same berries as the hippo...and since it's a extinct parasite it reacts differently to the human body

I dont think its the berries because they've been eating them for days and the flight attendant did say she tested it...then again they are extinct berries..........

Heh, I can understand those theories, but the fact is this is a manga, thus a work of fiction. In any fictional story, authors tend to stress important factors that come in later on (with the exception of the manga Naruto). The flight attendant isn't a professional, and she might have just tested them rather simply, maybe even just using basic knowledge of poisons.

The most likely explanation is that the berries carry some sort of virus, meaning a type of antidote must be ingested so to at least fight the virus (kinda like the flu). As piririn noted, Rion and Yarai didn't eat any berries, and they're the only ones left uninfected. Yarai is probably searching for a cure at the current time.

Exactly what I thought. But sometimes it's seems just to obvious. Maybe they gotta eat the hippo-thingy.
